This is alarming and highlights the urgent need for action to address climate change. This trend has serious implications for the environment, ecosystems, and human populations in Europe, and underscores the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to renewable energy sources. It is crucial that governments, businesses, and individuals take meaningful steps to mitigate the effects of climate change and protect our planet for future generations.

The statement by Selwin Hart, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Climate Action, underscores the severity and urgency of the climate crisis. Describing climate change as a 'code red' global emergency emphasizes the critical nature of the situation, highlighting that immediate and substantial action is necessary to address the devastating impacts already being felt and the anticipated escalation in the future

MOSCOW Humanity may well go extinct if it fails to address environmental problems, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Monday. "We very often hear alarming signals that if humanity does not deal with environmental issues, then it itself, as part of nature, may simply cease to exist. In fact, this may be true," Putin said, speaking at an ecological meeting for young people, in the eastern city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland and Switzerland have all experienced their hottest Septembers on record, with unseasonably high temperatures set to continue into October, in a year likely to be the warmest in human history. As 31C (88F) was forecast in south-west France on Sunday and 28C in Paris, the French weather authority, Météo-France, said September’s average temperature was 21.5C, between 3.5C and 3.6C above the norm for the 1991-2020 reference period. That made it the hottest September – by more than 1C – since records began in 1900, the meteorologist Christine Berne said, adding that in several regions, the deviation from the September average of the past three decades had exceeded 4C, sometimes 6C. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/oct/01/autumn-heat-continues-in-europe-after-record-breaking-september

Climate Reality Europe is an organization working for climate action. They are not the cause! Please don't send climate warnings to organizations working with the solutions. This post is better to post as a normal post not a climate review.

Red alerts for extreme heat are in place in most of Italy's main cities as a heatwave intensifies in Europe. Temperatures are expected to peak on Wednesday, with 23 cities on high alert - from Trieste in the north-east to Messina in the south-west. The warnings mean the heat poses a threat to everybody, not just vulnerable groups. Wildfires are also raging across the continent, including in Greece and the Swiss Alps. Millions of people in the northern hemisphere are being affected by scorching temperatures. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66242277

Cities will have to be redesigned to cope with the increased temperatures as they currently trap heat...
•

The extreme heat is horrible, but I don’t think Climate Reality Europe deserves a warning for this. It would have been better to target an oil company, or one of the many politicians who are not acting on the climate crisis.
•

This is a major concern and something must be done to get this temperatures down. All must stand together against this menace by reducing carbon emissions and use of methane gas.

Europe's business jet sector is putting its greenest foot forward at its flagship annual conference this week growing pressure to become more sustainable. Many have come under harsh scrutiny in Europe for their role in an industry seen as producing outsized emissions for global elites. CO2 emissions from private jets in Europe grew by 31% between 2005 and 2019. Pressure on the industry is increasing from European regulators, who are keen to advance their green agenda. Protesters are expected to gather on Tuesday outside the conference location in Geneva to highlight the rising number of private jet flights amidst a worsening global climate crisis.
