In the Eastern parts of Uganda especially Busia (the One stop Border), the rain water is not transparent or colourless as we used to know but rather it is black and in some areas dark. It has been alleged that maybe the smoke from the Wars in some parts of Asia/Europe/Middle East maybe the cause. There is increasing risk of the water to turn unsafe for consumption since most people use it to the extent of cooking and drinking. Action should be taken #climatechange

Creating Climate Change Curriculum
BY KIDA BRADLEY Introduction The unwillingness of the education system to design a curriculum around the climate crisis reinforces educational and environmental racism. When climate change initiatives are defunded, so is education, and vice versa. They are economically disposable, and some of the least advocated by voters. Despite the huge political platform that the climate movement seems to have, it does not make or break most candidates' ability to get voted into most public offices in the US

If we want our leaders to treat the climate crisis like an emergency then we also need to act as it is an emergency. The scientists rebellion is mobilizing scientists to protest. Scientists know what is going on but aren't vocal enough about it. As scientists we have more power than we think, many people listen to us. If we are alarmed and say so, they will be alarmed. @OnkarRamBamniya

The idea of creating a climate action movement is always important, especially when it involves young people! I have an education program under construction since I was 5 years old, my name is Amiga Árvore and now it will be part of the Mais Árvores Mais Futuro network that I am creating to add my ideas to the public. I have loved plants and trees since I was a child, and I have advanced knowledge of botany and dendrology as well as staying attached to that knowledge and my love for plants, which led me to be diagnosed as an Asperger at the age of 4 and to have a awakening from being crystal in contact with nature at the age of 8, when I decided to totally isolate myself and talk a few times a day with people to just observe nature, plants and the climate. there are no coincidences! You are just one more inspiration that helps me move forward!

With this post, I hope to start a discussion around the things we can do to support younger people. If you know of any good initiatives please put it in the comments as i’d love to hear what is currently happening around the world. Why should we help young people? Those who are most in pain are the ones most affected. Young people could have their futures stolen by short term thinking. Imagine how it would feel to know your fate ahead of time? A Greta puts it, the climate crisis is discrimination against young people. The fear and uncertainty has driven me to spend every day working on something which has a positive impact but do younger children have this luxury? How are they directing their frustration? I know the School Strike movement has provided an invaluable outlet for them but can we take it one step further? Can we give younger children an opportunity to create even more positive change? The only way to feel better is to act. How can we help concerned children combine their outrage with some optimism for the type of future it is possible to create? How do we effectively communicate that it is possible to get out of this mess and we have the plan to do so? Can we help them by translating the work by Project Drawdown, the IPCC and the Exponential Roadmap into actionable activities for students to do in their local areas? For example, Project Drawdown lists 76 individual solutions to reaching net zero, can we run climate action workshops where we research each solution and create plans for implementing some of these solutions in the students local areas? For example, we can take food waste as a topic and get students to come up with a plan for how they can encourage composting in their area. It is hard to make progress from a place of despair so we must be careful about the language we use. We need to be outraged but we need to match that with some optimism. As Christiana Figueres and others puts it, our outrage is our energy and our optimism is the direction to which we use that energy. The work by Drawdown and others has provided us with enough optimism so let's put the two together and start building the future. I’d love to hear anyones ideas for how we can help young people ease their anxiety by giving them an outlet to act. Has anyone seen any initiatives that offer something like this? How can we pool together what exists and help it scale? This is a very inspiring and relevant video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBeU6UZyPjY&list=PL5DxCRyuSax-jIBMIt3UEjn1gIHVHYMHD&index=4

There is a mutually beneficial activity where companies come into universities and work with students to solve a live business problem. A business wants to drastically reduce their emissions but they might be struggling to think of ways they can do so. Can they work with students to develop a bespoke plan for their organisation? Students can be presented with the background of the business and some of the challenges the business thinks they have with adopting net zero targets. The students will then go away and develop a sustainability plan for how the business can become aligned with the Paris Agreement. Students can then present this plan to the company for feedback and iteration. They can walk them through the process of identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce emissions across Scope 1,2 and 3. This will give students another opportunity to put their frustration into good use. The business will benefit from a bespoke climate action plan which they can put into place over the timescales identified by the students. I'd love to know if you think this could work and how we can build on this idea.

Schools are major contributors to Climate Change. They generate tonnes of wastes and are responsible for high levels of carbon emissions. The Climate Student Movement is doing awesome work by planting trees to reduce emissions. It is therefore important to support movements like this by not only suggesting creative ideas, but also supporting them in whatever way we can, be it financially or emotionally, to help them work effectively and achieve greater impact.

Climate love was on the right track before the global pandemic, however it is clear that the commitment has been reduced. Many people had numerous activities striving for the changes. It is time for all of us who are here to motivate others cause it seems like we are self motivated and we can use our energy to stimulate others. Let's not sit back, relax and Talk Mathematics cause we don't have time.

The Swedish government is facing a major climate decision: Will they allow Swedish oil company, Preem, to increase their carbon emissions by a whopping one million tonnes a year, or act to protect our children’s futures? Oil company, Preem is looking to expand their Preemraff facility, making it Sweden’s single biggest emitter of CO2. If the government gives the go-ahead to this expansion, it would both add to wrecking the climate, and seriously undermine Sweden’s international reputation as a climate leader. This expansion is unacceptable. Every tonne of carbon emitted is adding to our children's climate burden. We cannot expand fossil fuel infrastructure anywhere, if we are to completely decarbonise our societies and meet the Paris agreement. Local resistance near Preemraff is building, along with national pressure on the government to say no to the expansion. Now, we need international pressure to stop this madness. As parents we cannot stand idly by, while companies and governments are putting profits before the children we love! Sweden has a track record of being an international climate leader. Now is the time to act boldly to break free from the old, and invest in the new. Please click ‘agree’ to tell the Swedish government that they must stop the expansion of Preemraff.

Inspired by your recent update, about building green roofs for a university in Stockholm, I think you should talk to Climate Students Movement and the universities they are in contact with This spring, they collected 99 climate ideas which were turned into an action paper with 71 solutions for how universities can lower their emissions. And guess what? One of their solutions is about green roofs and campuses! https://wedonthavetime.org/profile/climatestudents I think this could be a good business opportunity to reach universities by collaborating with students.
