Novige's goal is “Saving the climate with profitable wave power” and they intend to achieve it via NoviOcean, an innovative patented wave energy converter (WEC). NoviOcean is comprised of few, simple, light, strong and well-proven components, resembling an “inverted hydro power plant at sea” (HPAS concept) with the ocean being the never-drying dam. The rectangular float (as opposed to circular) enables automatic alignment towards incoming waves while significantly improving the lifting capacity by a factor of 4-10 compared to the competitors. All the above enables us to produce stable electricity, even during harsh weathers, at an LCOE level comparable to offshore wind directly from the start.
