With Polestar's batteries under the hood, what is described as the world's most energy-efficient boat, the Candela C-8, has become even sharper. And maybe we'll see a Polestar-designed boat soon.
"A conventional boat requires an awful lot of energy, as much as 15 times more per kilometer than a car. If you electrify boats just by replacing the gas engine with an electric motor, you don't get any range, unless you load the boat with so many batteries that it almost sinks. With the airfoil technology, energy consumption is 80 percent lower. Now we have come through a journey that, for example, aviation has not been able to do yet," says Gustav Hasselskog.
The batteries from Polestar can also be quickly charged. This means that you can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes. And on the charging front at sea, a lot is happening right now, for example an EU-funded project will deliver 400 chargers between Gothenburg and Kristiansand, and the Norwegian electricity company Eviny (formerly BKK) is building a fast charging network in Norway.

First saw this with Björn Nyland. Amazing concepts. Love the external elektric motor and the clever hightec balancing of the boat.
