AirForestry’s pitch:
AirForestry replaces traditional machines that damage the soil and trees, by harvesting the trees from the air with high-capacity electrical drones. AirForestry can increase the forests’ ability to sequester carbon by freeing 20 percent of forest land currently used for forestry access roads. That in combination with harvesting will enable the forest to store 200 Megatonnes extra CO2/ year. We can also make forests more resilient to wildfires (addressing a 6.5Gtons challenge), storms, droughts, tree epidemics and biodiversity loss. Our mission is to take a gigantic chunk out of the world’s carbon footprint by creating a more resilient, productive, and beautiful forest for everyone.
