https://climatejusticealliance.org/workgroup/food-sovereignty/ Food sovereignty is the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. Deforestation, farming, transportation, processing and packaging, refrigeration and retail, and waste, the industrial model of agribusiness – guided by generation of profits, exploitation of labor, commodification of the earth, and manipulation of natural systems – is a major contributor to the climate crisis. Frontline leaders within CJA’s membership are modeling Food Sovereignty as an essential part of a Just Transition to healthy, resilient communities and a regenerative economy through the practice and scaling out of agroecology – a science, a practice, and a movement centered on growing food in harmony with ecological systems. The Six Food Sovereignty Principles 1. Focus on Food for People 4. Makes Decisions Locally 2. Value Food Providers 5. Build Knowledge and Skill 3. Localize Food Systems 6. Work with Nature

To Johan Falk. I'd like the We Don't Have Time people to forward an email from me to you re Exponential governance. This might be where we take two similar models of governance - polycentricity (associated with the Ostrom Workshop community of scholars and practitioners) and Stafford Beer's Viable Systems Model (VSM) associated with the Metasphorum community - and combine them in such a way as to build on the strengths of each. To this end I'm starting to form a bridge between the two communities and recently I made contact with Paul Dragos Aligica who's a heavy in the Ostrom Workshop and who's keen to promote cybernetics, known to the Ostroms and the backbone of the VSM. Thanks, Brian Lederer.
