Climate Reality has canceled the training in Las Vegas due to the Corona situation. Climate Idea; Why don’t Climate Reality take the opportunity to host a digital conference with a minimal carbon footprint and no risk of the disease spreading? #WeDontHaveTime could help how to do it. We did the worlds first global no-fly climate conference in 2018, and we also helped the Nordic countries to host a digital conference for #COP25

The Climate Reality Project organization of which, the former vice president of the United States of America AL GORE, is the founder and current CEO, adjusting to the contingent situation due to the risk of the spread of the virus crown, has postponed the training meetings for climate activists from around the world aspiring climate leaders, starting with the first course that was scheduled in Las Vegas in March 2020. Also in my opinion, sharing the idea of #IngmarRentzhog posted on the #WeDontHaveTime app, that is, that, the Climate Reality Project organization, would have no other alternative for the moment, if not that of offering the internship to all climate activists around the world, through a 100% online method, using the now consolidated skills more times demonstrated by the Swedish organization We Don't Have Time in the creation and dissemination of online conferences hosting scientists and world experts on climate change such as the recent participation of We Don't Have Time at the United Nations conference - # COP25- broadcast online, simultaneously from both Madrid and Stockholm, through the channel offered by the We Don't Have Time App. I also think that there are several thousand climate activists who, like me, would have a huge desire to take part in the conferences held by Al Gore and the expert members of the Climate Reality Project, but that, like me, unfortunately, do not have the opportunity cheap to face an air trip to the United States round trip, to stay in one of the 4 locations of the USA scheduled for the 3 days of full immersion with attached costs of moving from the accommodation to reach the host course and vice versa; but, above all because, reasoning as a climate activist, the student is aware of the negative impact of his aerial shifts from the state of origin to the USA, in terms of carbon dioxide emissions. Actually, already before this emergency of the virus crown, I sent an email to the Climate Reality Project organization, of my interest to participate in their training course, but not in the presence, but at a distance, when they activate it; and I, I hope so much to be able to participate online in a session of the training course in climate leader if it will be organized, precisely by Al Gore's Climate Reality Project.

Yes Ingmar, but follow the money, who creates the money, interest is in every dollar, going to the rich, those who don't care, and can our politicians decide about the money? No, and you know it! But you don't use your influential power to do so! I feel sad about our future. Even now in Corona times the central banks and governments don't steer the extra billions to change society to fight climate change... There is no hope in trying to change from within without changeing the monetary system. Greta knows it, I know it. Do all of you?

At least coronavirus will reduce flights and major events. With one projection of coronavirus estimating 65 million deaths worldwide, it’s small in relation to the expected death toll from climate change. I don’t know about you but I’m feeling the irony of society having such an intense reaction to coronavirus while virtually ignoring the much larger threat of climate change and mass extinction!

Thanks for the heads up Ingmar: these facts are still too largely ignored or too little understood. I have been talking to many politicians lately: they say that they will boost climate action when people and business DEMAND for it, not earlier. It’s important to realize that PEOPLE and BUSINESS NEED TO FOCUS MORE on climate action. Scientists and economists have done the job. WeDontHaveTime and other NGOs have made it easy for people to support effective climate action. Now people need to sign up here: http://bit.ly/EUiniSOP

Coke, Pepsi, Nestlé and other companies are being sued by the California environmental group Earth Island Institute! The suit, recently filed in San Mateo county superior court, argues that companies that sell plastic bottles that end up in the ocean should be held accountable for misleading consumers about the recyclability of their products and the damage they cause the environment. A significant amount of the eight to 20m tons of plastic entering and clogging up the Earth’s oceans annually can be traced back to a handful of companies, which rely on single-use plastic bottles and packaging. – This is the first lawsuit directly to take on these plastic peddlers who for years have spread the fake narrative that their products can be recycled when they know in many cases this is simply not true, said Josh Floum, president of Earth Island’s board of directors, in a statement. Give a climate heart to Earth Island Institute for taking the fight with those who pollute our oceans and planet!

There has been so far a lot of evidence to show that we are losing to the climate crisis. And ignoring this to take no actions and keeping quiet won't help anything, or stop anything. For ages, we have been the most stabilized generation, but why fail to respond to mother earth's calling? Think about the future, because when you do, you think about your kids, your grandchildren. What do you wish for them? All that will yield if we act now. Here is a song from @Rēvenes WORLD IS BURNING. https://youtu.be/e0cVv1Bkad4

Some days ago Norwegian oil company Equinor announced it has scrapped its $200m plan to drill for oil in the deeps of Great Australian Bight Marine Park. The decision is a big win for environment groups and others that opposed the planned drilling, including Indigenous people and local councils. The proposal sparked protests by tens of thousands of people. – This is the result of relentless campaigning by coastal communities, Indigenous traditional owners, surfers, the seafood industry, tourism operators and local businesses. Never doubt the power and determination of the Australian people. Said Greenpeace Australia Pacific’s chief executive, David Ritter. This is an incredible win for people power and nature! Give a climate heart to everyone that opposed the drilling and to Greenpeace for their work for a brighter future!

Thank you all for your support and love on this initiative- together with coastal communities, Indigenous traditional owners, surfers, the seafood industry, tourism operators and more, we have been able to kick Equinor, BP, Chevron and Karoon Gas out of the Great Australian Bight. There are still a handful of fossil fuel companies with licenses to drill in the bight, and the only way to protect coastal communities and the Great Australian Bight’s unique marine life is to rule out drilling permanently. The world’s climate cannot afford to open disastrous new oil frontiers like this. Extreme oil projects like this have no place in Australia’s waters. The Australian government should now impose a permanent moratorium on oil drilling in this precious marine wonderland.

I think people generally have this idea that we can wait until things get a bit more noticably worse then simply turn if the tap. They don't realise the 100's and 1000's of years involved in turning around massive global climate systems. That's why tipping points are so important!

January 2020 in France is the warmest in 120 years, caused by climate heating. Ski resorts have big problems with the lack of snow. Now, a genius came up with the great idea of dumping snow in the ski slopes - with helicopters, emitting c. 1 tonne of CO2 per hour. That is the same amount of carbon that every human can emit per year if we have any chance to stay within the Paris agreement. What has made humans so incredibly ignorant? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-51524278

Just to stay on the subject on the subject, I confess that, although I personally, recently, I managed a travel agency, and before that I dealt with tourism to reach the big events with the organization of buses from my city southern Italy to reach Rome and Milan; behold, I confess to you that, for various reasons and circumstances, I have never taken a plane in my life. In fact, when I told my customers, they didn't believe it and they thought I was joking, the paradox is that they still don't believe me now, but honestly it's true and therefore, the most relieving thing is that I never determined what would be my negative part was the increase in pollution.

1) who did they ask because I don't believe 75% of the *general* population of Europe would say that and 2) there's a difference between saying you'll do something and *actually* doing something

Alex, here's more details: https://www.eib.org/en/surveys/2nd-citizen-survey/new-years-resolutions# From the Excel-data they published: 28088 survey participants, around 2000 or 1000 in each country. I agree that it's a HUGE difference between saying you have "the intention of flying less" and then actually doing so, but this is a good first step. Headlines like these set the norm and eventually reinforce the behavior :)

Once a savor, now a destroyer 😭 "THE AMAZON" it has been stated that its burning has also contributed to the pollution and carbon in the air, this is what is going to happen, across the globe, if we keep acting "EVERYTHING'S FINE" We are facing the end, not because we did not care, or do not care...but because we are greedy, our leaders are greedy, selfishness. But, it's never a big deal, no one is paying attention, but we won't sease. We will not keep quite seeing the world, the planet we grew up in, harmony, and joy getting destroyed, no we won't shut up. You managed to stabilize the planet, this generation has been the most stabilized generation, you worked so hard to be where we are, but, it's all going to be in vain. SNEAK PEAK; HISTORY OF HUMANITY For ages, the human race has neglected those who have/had always tried to show them the road and ride to light/freedom. But, remembered all the good times and teachings, when they are already gone, people have feared for their own lives, peace, freedom and safety. But my question is, for how long are we going to keep mourning and crying for the great men's teachings? How long shall we keep learning, from our teachers, until they're gone, when we can't even thank them in person anymore, when we can even, show them all that love, and show them/give them hope and faith, that, we, are, never going to let them down, and that their efforts, will never go in vain. Let's learn before our teachers leave us. 🕯 one light from me, to all who have lost their lives saving the human kind, make more lights shine. IT IS REAL! For the first time in the ages of human race, I think it has happened now. A winter season, with no snow. I never expected to experience such a tragedy, I don't really like snow, but its absence in its season, is so terrifying! And why all this, why loose to the climate crisis, yet we have been the most advanced generation over the decades, but we have sat down and chilled like everything is normal! We are heading back to the worst, than the dark ages, it gave me a lot of thoughts, where I even started to think, and cried "Are we going to live on a planet, wearing gas masks as I've seen in movies? Are we going to start breathing artificial oxygen, where we will only have to live for less than 30 years of age 😭 my heart felt so much pain about this.
