Hello... welcome... thanks! I only recently discovered "We don't have time" and I am loving the diversity of the conversations, people, and content. It's encouraging to see this level of awareness and commitment to addressing our shared climate challenges. Being in the US we are in a crisis of denial, ignorance, and entitlement that is blinding many to the need to take the climate issues more seriously. It's still a "discussion or debate" for many here, versus the reality that it's here, it's now and we need to take drastic action to fix it. It's a big motivation for my renewed focus on helping those in the cleantech and clean energy space improve their ability to tell their story and communicate their message in a meaningful way so they can attract attention, resources, and allies to bring their solutions to the masses. I strongly believe that if we all leverage our most valuable skills (in my case communication) to help uplevel the next person then together we as a people can bring about the massive change and positive impact we will need to turn the tide of climate change across the world. It won't be easy, but it's necessary to ensure we have a world that is thriving for my kids and their kids. Thanks to everyone for continuing to push forward with positivity and enthusiasm. It's what will keep us going and bring about the change we need. ๐ If you need resources to help improve your communication skills >> https://lnkd.in/g57Ps4B Or jump on a call with me >> https://lnkd.in/ghwwxVr Follow ๐ #TheMessageFixer #TheIMPACTTribe

My responseโฆ The biggest problem is that climate change is massive, and overwhelms people. Many can barely deal with their day-to-day tasks and challenges let alone something this monumental. The current approach of overwhelming with scientific data or worse yet trying to scare people with data does nothing other than causing people to turn away, deny or question - which weโve seen en masse. In order to begin breaking through the climate data needs to be humanized, infused with emotion, and delivered in bite-size pieces so itโs easier to consume. In addition to the delivering information there needs to be a way for people to have autonomy and control to take action - so providing easy and actionable steps that people can take to change the status quo. Itโs a primary driver for why I do the type of work I do. Helping those with the data, the technology, the innovations to solve these climate problems communicate their ideas more effectively to drive adoption and bring about change. It is a daunting task but like so many other things humans have faced I believe we can address it. ๐ Thx for sharing Alexis Issaharoff #TheMessageFixer #climatesolutions #communicationskills #storytelling

Completely agree! Climate communication needs to encompass fact, solution focused innovation and emotion in order to trigger the necessary behavioral and structural changes fast enough. For this, the climate discussion needs to be more inclusive towards victims of climate change, as well as the forerunners that make the transition possible.
