Boxed Water is a water brand available online and in stores. Instead of plastic bottles, it comes in cartons printed with the slogan “Boxed Water Is Better.” On its website, the company claims that it has “the most renewable package in the water aisle,” made of 92% plant-based materials. But according to Yoo, these claims are misleading. “This is greenwashing, and I’ll tell you why,” Yoo says in her video while holding a complimentary carton of Boxed Water left in her hotel room. “While these cartons look like paper, they’re actually a paper/plastic/aluminum blend and made of 25% plastic. And because these are a blend, it’s actually near impossible to separate these back out into their original materials.” Unfortunately, that fact makes blended cartons extremely difficult to recycle. “About 40% of the country doesn’t offer recycling for this material,” Yoo claims. This is important information for buyers trying to reduce their impact on the planet. Crates of 16.9-ounce Boxed Water sell for around $50 for 24 cartons, or more than $2 per carton. Buyers are often willing to pay extra for a carton they believe is better for the environment; if a plastic bottle is both cheaper and easier to recycle, it becomes a much more attractive option. https://www.thecooldown.com/green-business/boxed-water-greenwashing-sarah-yoo-blueland-bottle/

One of the most impressive and captivating recycling and circularity concept applications is exhibited at Anselm Kitengela hot glass recycling firm in Kajiado county. The firm has featured over the years in numerous television shows and newspapers and has for an umpteenth time featured as the cover photo on Safaricom's-a network service provider 2021 calendar for their uniquely articulated craft work of different products made from recycled glass such as a glass studio,a scary bridge, pieces of art, vessels, chandeliers among others. It might mean business but most importantly it's a solution provider to the climate crisis since most of these non biodegradable waste materials measuring in thousands of tons are recycled. Collected from suppliers to the building industry, melting 150kg of old glass a day,the firm has converted over 2000 tonnes (2,000,000 kilos)This translates to over 330 tons of CO2 saved so far. (1 ton of carbon dioxide is reduced for every 6 tons of recycled. https://www.kitengela.com/pages/recycling

In the UK, waste glass (known as cullet) is routinely recycled by councils and used to make new glass, not just artworks (although these are very nice).

That's awesome.just hope most public and private sectors widely adopt this circularity concept.so much is new in developing countries and it's a thumbs up.

Real Green People is a monthly feature that puts a spotlight on the people who are being the green change they want to see in the world. I am indeed enthusiastic about the posts and i am wowed by every feature.with ardent interest on climate and environment issues,I am encouraged by the noble courses taken up by the green folks featured and it keeps my spirits for the care and concern of nature always uplifted. 21 year old Maria Maring is an impressive young girl with a passion for saving the planet. Her interview has stood out for me as she narrates how she tried to snob what I may term as a calling as she's designed to be a frontier to save the planet but otherwise at first chose to take a different path in campus by studying astrophysics but later adjusted by pursuing environmentalism. Here's more about Maria in the attached link. I hope to stay abreast in the upcoming features. https://thesouthern-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/thesouthern.com/news/local/real-green-people-how-maria-maring-went-from-passive-observer-to-wanting-to-save-the/article_27a5576b-1704-5662-b92e-614a7e2ffd62.amp.html

Learning of the presence and impeccable impact of 8 billion trees in my country Kenya by the organization's collaborative efforts with Kenya forest service towards carbon emissions reduction by embarking on an enormous tree planting exercise in Kenze hills makueni county has compelled me to dig into their profile that's indeed a game changer going by the facts therein. Their over the moon captivating interest in healing the planet and conserve wildlife that's on a practical and authenticated scale over the 4 four years of existence and counting is really delightful. Rehabilitation of the Amazon-the word's largest rainforest forest is part of their wider reach to ensure forest regrowth in a bid to offset carbon. By coming together with other stakeholders in various countries who include the government institutions, environmental groups as well as the local communities to foot this noble cause is a great and encouraging step in ensuring protection, preservation, conservation, reforestation and afforestation among other nature based healing attributes. Having set their feet in at least seven countries so far and impacted change, the organization is indeed making tremendous moves to spread quick and beyond as there's no time to wait when it comes to tackling the climate emergency-the crisis of our own making. https://8billiontrees.com/about/ https://8billiontrees.com/planting-projects/
