https://www.csrhub.com/CSR_and_sustainability_information/Wintrust-Financial-Corporation Your score according to this website is nothing stellar. For being a community bank Wintrust needs to go green and do it quickly. As a regional banking leader for the Chicago region to have that low of a score shocks me. I expect more of Wintrust. The bank needs to set out clear goals for carbon neutral banking and make carbon offset credits available as soon as possible. A carbon neutral checking account can’t be hard to implement.

https://twitter.com/telegraph/status/1385204826922012673?s=21 by offering people ability to estimate their CO2 use of soaps and personal hygiene actions like showering and brushing teeth (twice a day is scientifically proven unnecessary and wasteful and showering daily is wasteful) If people can see their yearly impact of showering and brushing less it will encourage more responsible personal hygiene.

Using less hot water can indeed reduse your carbon footprint, especially if the water is (partly) heated with fossil fuels. A question about water usage is part of our long list questionaire, but in our ambiton to ensure a calculation of 5 minutes, there are many questions thar have not made the cut to the live calculator The rule of thumb we have used is that a question must affect at least 0.1 ton CO2e of a an average users footprint, to be included.

If bathtubs had a weighing scale built-in, you could see how much water your shower/bath cost (and with yourself, too). I know that I rarely use more than 15 l of water for a shower and I only shower once every other day. For brushing teeth, is definitely only turn the tap on and off for initial wrong of the brush and then a lady rinse. Washing up takes a lot of water in our house.

Don’t run the water at all when brushing your teeth. That’s another climate careless habit we need to nip out.

I think people can take actions such as not using single use plastics, boycotting fossil fuel powered transportation, using sustainable heating and the like. We don't have to shower less on top of that. We're all fighting a battle that can be won. Let's not get over-excited.

Large scale cutbacks of water use and meat consumption will become necessary. Don’t say cutting back on water use is unnecessary. All I see is a man clutching to his shower faucet murmuring “my precious don’t take my precious shower” Sorry, but that’s what I see in this conversation. The immaturity you have shown here in response to a scientific post from Yale university shows that you are clearly not greening every aspect of your life to the best of your ability and for that, I feel sorry for you. Wish you could see this from my angle. The water you fill your tub with could have filled the glasses of empty handed kids in an orphanage.
The vaccine has become one of the biggest media magnets and has grabbed everyone’s attention across the world. Taking the carbon footprint of the vaccines and then eliminating it through strategic investment from private and public sector could set a positive example for other businesses to go net zero. Apple has taken aim towards carbon neutral but there hasn’t been much in terms of major drug manufacturers and their carbon footprints. What exactly is the footprint of all the antibiotics vaccines and everything used in the pandemic. The pandemics carbon load surely had to have been measurable. Showing people the climate impact of the pandemic and setting goals for offsetting it will set a starting point for people to make critical investments in climate technology and climate smart businesses.

Currently there are only very vague estimates available as to what a person or businesses carbon footprint is without making expensive calculations. Using AI and existing datasets on product operating and engineering an engine can be created to allow users business and consumer to calculate their exact carbon footprint by inputting their entire home or businesses electrical inventory exact name and make or approximate operating requirements and type. The ClimateHero system is an example of a crude climate impact calculator that could likely be improved using a larger data set. Update: Part of the process can be automated allowing IoT devices to be “seen” by authorizing a C3 spider to look through the persons network. Most devices when SNMP probed reveal their model and make. This would streamline use of the product in a large setting with high volumes of IoT devices (hotel etc)

People are guilty (myself included) of having TV on just to have TV on. There are smaller more efficient ways such as radio or portable screen to keep ones entertainment and news connection. People watch over 20 hours of TV a week some people over 40, not only is it wasteful it’s unhealthy and deteriorates creativity resulting in people staring mindlessly at their TVs. It’s happened for earth hour everyone turns off the lights but how’s about we go an entire day with the entire world turning off their TVs and using smaller battery powered electronics instead of the electricity guzzling big screen. Wonder how much CO2 that would offset, there are A LOT OF TVs on globally each day. I request that Earth Day Network make social media campaigns and a paid trending tag to push more awareness to this matter and drive television efficiency up by pushing wasteful usage down. https://www.carbonfootprint.com/energyconsumption.html at 215kg of CO2 on average per LCD TV that’s a lot of CO2 we can wipe out by having people be more efficient in how they use televisions and making people more aware of their carbon footprint.

Human labor is incredibly inefficient already well known fact. There are currently no known robotic solutions for handling an entire cannabis plants growing to bottling seed to product lifecycle. This requires cannabis grow facilities to be large with a lot of employees, the automation industry largely ignores the cannabis sector due to legality hurdles. With this request I ask that Emerson who oversaw much of the automation in factory lines we use in any product look to creating a viable concept for an automated grow facility. https://mashable.com/article/cannabis-cultivation-weed-farm-automation/ - The news media outlook is quite negative, there are few prospects for automating the process because of a lack of technological interest and attention. (Comment: when’s the last time you heard a major technology company in factory automation talking about cannabis?)

The making of plastic like materials from hemp is nothing new. Unveiling cards made using hemp or another non plastic material would be a boom for the environment. The credit card and debit card industry goes through tons of plastic and paper. Switching to industrial hemp is crucial to making the cards green.

Many stock systems exist but there is no system that uses AI to automatically and objectively ESG score investment products. Being able to receive a numerical ESG score and understand it’s underlying elements would allow people at retail and institutional level to make faster ESG investment decisions leveraging AI tech. Update: The ESG score would be 0 to 100 It would calculate environmental data using company reported and publicly gathered data via AI. Nasdaq data engines already collect some of this data. Social impact data would be collected the same and would also use social media activity to monitor customer / public sentiment. Governance scoring would be entirely objective, any SEC missteps would result in deductions which would go away after some years. An ESGScore does not rate a stocks price or ability to go up or down. It only rates how ESG friendly the product is.
