Patagonia has managed to create a great film about the citizen-led community-energy movement in Europe and the visionaries lighting the way. A great inspirational documentary that absolutely everyone should watch! And get inspired to join an existing energy community or create a new one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75A9WGxoUn8

The ElectriVillage H2E energy system which the municipality of Mariestad in Sweden is building is unique in its kind. It contains the world's first hydrogen fuel station, which is powered by 100% solar energy from a solar cell park. It is showing the way to fossil free transport without expensive lithium batteries. The energy system should be used to produce hydrogen gas, to fuel the cars of the town and other travellers driving hydrogen cars. In addition, excess solar energy can be stored using hydrogen, and used as a backup power on the electricity grid when the sun does not light. Agree to this campaign if you want to encourage the municipality of Mariestad to do even more and for other cities to join in! You are also welcome to comment and discuss hydrogen technology. Is it the future technology if it is powered by solar?

Definitely a good alternative, but in my opinion the first step should be to make public transport cheaper and accessible for everyone to decrease individual fossil transport (by car).

Interesting. American clean truck startup Nikola motors just presented their latest prototype trucks running on H2. Think thats the area as well as in shipping where H2-technology can make the most climate impact: https://nikolamotor.com/

Thanks for sharing, will definetly watch! I love their engagement, and especially how they connect environmental, social and cultural aspects in the fight to save the wild rivers of Europe. I would recommend that you watch the documentary Blue Heart Full Film | The Fight for Europe’s Last Wild Rivers by Patagonia to learn more about how hydropower development is threatening the rivers of Europe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhmHByZ0Xd8
