Amojority of Africans are in the rural communities, its on their land where private forests and trees stand, their farm lands are the ones mostly adjustcent to rivers and streams. We can only design workable solutions if we involve them because they make decisions on whether the tree stands or whether the eco system of the water bodies are not destroyed. In otherwards, the future of Africa is rural and far from the boardrooms where climate conversations regarding the continent are held. Visit www.immaculateakello.com

Yes I agree I'm a farmer
Forests are the world’s lungs. They absorb & store more CO2 than they release, making them important carbon sinks. It’s up to us to protect them. 🌳 African Climate Reality Project’s latest film African Voices for Africa's Forests tells the story of climate leader Ewi- and the link between gender, Indigenous rights, and the restoration of Africa’s forests.
