Following a successful project set up at a tree nursery in the Amsterdamse Bos, a woodland on the outskirts of Amsterdam, Meer Bomen Nu (More Trees Now) is creating around 200 "tree hubs" across the country, from which members of the public, farmers, councillors and landowners can pick up unwanted native tree seedlings that would otherwise be discarded after woodland path clearance or forestry operations. They aim to reduce the time and cost of reaching the Netherlands' goal of planting 100M new trees.
