WWF SWEDEN DEMANDS A CARBON BUDGET THROUGH NEW PETITION If we are to limit global warming to well below 2, preferably 1.5 degrees Celsius, we need to act now. According to the IPCC we need to reduce the worlds carbon emissions by half before 2030 if we are to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement. Therefore, we want Sweden to adopt a legally binding carbon budget. We need this in order to: 👉 Fulfill our part of the Paris Agreement 👉 Make sure our generation takes responsibility and do not leave the consequences for future generations to take care of. As of this moment we have gathered over 8800 signatures demanding a carbon budget and we are halfway before we close the signature list. Our goal is for all parties of the parliament to agree to this demand before the Swedish elections this upcoming September, in order to ensure that a carbon budget will be established by the new government.
