These guys put the 'eco' in e-commerce. That's why we use the HeapsGood mailers for packaging our plastic-free goods! Why HeapsGood Packaging? Plastic sucks. Climate change aside, it's hands down the nastiest environmental challenge around. And ecommerce is one of the big offenders, with single-use plastic mailers entering landfills and oceans all over the world. Enter HeapsGood. Apart from being general corn enthusiasts, we also wanted to solve a real problem. In 2021, not many ecom brands want plastic packaging sticking around forever and neither do their customers. That's why our products are made from plant-based sources and contain 0% plastic. Home compostable mailers, labels, tape – everything you need to send your stuff is designed with sustainability and ecommerce in mind. Choose packaging that's here for a good time, not a long time. The right way to package your products, naturally. 100% home compostable, plant-based, 4 sizes. https://heapsgoodpackaging.com.au/

Do you have any data on the carbon footprint of the packaging? Is it more or less carbon efficient than cardboard?

Hey Mathew, that's a really good question and something we are working very hard on making a reality. I dont have definitive data yet either way and there are many variables but the more we research and dig the more we find. Our mailers have a better carbon footprint than virgin cardboard that I can confirm. I think the critical input is where the feedstock is sourced from. For example, if the cardboard is from recycled sources and the same for the starch used to make PLA (potato wastewater, or crops not fit for consumption rather than virgin crops) it goes a long way to bringing down the carbon footprint of each product. We also try to reduce the footprint of our products further by planting a tree for each order and offsetting the carbon from each of our employees as well.
