Climate love
Few individuals achieve true global recognition, fewer still as scientists, and among them, almost none as women. Jane Goodall was the rare exception. On October 2, at the beautiful age of 91, the world lost one of its most luminous voices for biodiversity and the protection of life on Earth.
For more than six decades, Dr Goodall dedicated herself not only to the study of primates but also to inspiring people everywhere to care, to act, and to believe that change is possible. Her work sparked movements, shifted hearts, and shaped generations of scientists, conservationists, and ordinary citizens determined to make a difference.
In 2023, Dr Goodall shared a message with us during Stockholm Climate Week. In it, she spoke about the interconnected crises we face, political, social, and environmental, and about how our choices today will determine whether we preserve this planet for generations to come. She reminded us that "each one of us matters, each one of us has a role to play… and millions of small ethical choices made by millions of people around the globe move us towards a better world."
Her words resonate even more strongly now, when science, truth, and environmental action are under increased pressure. If you watch one thing today, let it be this message from Jane Goodall. It is a gift, and a call to action. Thank you, Dr Goodall. Rest in power, you earned it. 💚
