Climate idea

What did developing countries (Africa in particular) get from COP26?

Africa could have gotten a lot from COP26 but it did not. A lot of questions surrounding climate finance and its delivery remain unanswered. Even with the commitments made at COP26, the progress is still insufficient for Africa to transition more quickly. Climate change catastrophe is evidently on the horizon if the world does not act. Costly as such action might be in the short run for individual nations, it is imperative that they be incurred for the sake of maintaining a planet that is capable of producing any kind of shared future prosperity. Collective action remains the Achilles Heel. Many thanks for the information. As you are aware, the UNFCCC secretariat is devoted to supporting the intergovernmental negotiating process on climate change. Thus, your proposal is beyond the scope of our mandate. New technologies together with "thinking outside of the box" will be important components of any sustainable solution. Since the UNFCCC is not directly involved in implementation, it is recommended that you direct your efforts at promoting this project with potential partners. We wish you all the best with your endeavours to create practical innovative solutions to the problem of global warming.

Wealthy developed nations need to step up to the plate here. There is a moral obligation to fund and support poorer developing nations through transition to enable them to leapfrog the fossil fuel phase of their development. It will cost a lot of money, but the benefits to us all are huge!

@UNFCCC Let's make miracles happen in these 3 days. Your financial gift is very valuable for me My name is Mariam Avakova, a young professional, youth advocate, and educator, from Georgia. I am writing to ask for your support in attending #COY17 Youth Climate Conference (1-5 November) and the subsequent #COP27 Climate Conference (6-14 November), which will be held in Sharm El Sheikh. As my country’s representative, I have been invited as a delegate to attend and organise sessions, sharing my experiences on issues such as green employment, entrepreneurship, climate change initiatives and youth empowerment. However, I need support to be able to attend. My goal is to bring myself from Georgia to both from virtual reality in person, so I need to raise $3300 USD to cover travel and accommodation. This is my second year volunteering with COY. Last year, I was in charge of the Glasgow conference and worked remotely to design sessions to showcase our actions, representing the interests of the young people of Georgia. I have previously contributed to global youth statement drafting, climate communication within COY and COP27 youth, and Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) through UNFCCC UN YOUNGO. The opportunity to bring a Georgian youth delegation to Sharm El Sheikh will provide us with a worldwide platform and face-to-face interaction with global leaders, activists, and change-makers. You have the opportunity to help Georgian voices be heard and represented. I #climatechange would be delighted if you can make any kind of financial contribution to help us participate at COY17 and COP27. I plan on engaging in extensive social media activity through photographs and vlogging videos, so as sponsors, there are opportunities to promote your organisation through our activities. I would be delighted to meet with you either in person or through an online call to chat more about our plans. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Mariam Avakova Bank Account: Any amount is welcome: (ticket, accommodation, meal) Bank of Georgia, SWIFT: BAGAGE22 GE77BG0000000525703049 PS here is a link to a video and article about my activities here in Georgia: https://www.doorsblacksea.eu/post/690469316876959744/engaging-young-people-in-georgia-on-european
