https://earthsygns.org/watch-report/ The Watch Report Dan Watch is an expert in sustainability who advises international developers at Harvard University each year (e.g Dignitaries from all allied countries). He has extensive experience in designing and building sustainable research facilities, for the architectural firm Perkins Will. His primary focus is helping build a sustainable world for everyone. His ideas center around community programs, to reduce food waste and create community solar, that can be placed on roofs of warehouses and large apartment houses. The panels would all serve lower-income households and produce more than enough electricity to serve the residents and sell back the remainder to the utility. Read his latest report at earthsygns.org We are asking John Kerry to speak with Dan, and hear these ideas that can be implemented immediately in many disadvantaged regions around the world, substantially reducing carbon footprints in many communities https://earthsygns.org/watch-report/

With the dual fuselage and electric-powered jets already approved for flight, and being built by airbus, why hasn't the Paris Agreement nation's spoken out? Airbus and Boeing have ordered from all the major airlines over 250 new 737 Max and larger fuselage passenger jets aircraft. All using aviation fuel. John Kerry has a question before him. He well knows that the life span of a fossil fuel-powered airliner is 40 - 60 years and will likely cause 10% of the greenhouse gas produced around the world. The Paris Climate Agreement has emphatically declared a net-zero program would be reached by 2045, not even twenty years into the new jets life span? It's not only that the technology exists, it is being utilized commercially already in 20 passenger charter electric planes. Why if the ability to reach approved aircraft within 5 years do we need new leaded fuel-powered planes within that timeframe? The aviation fuel is more destructive than any other fuel. It uses leaded ingredients which all countries in the world have stopped using because it is so dangerous. Emissions from leaded fuel products cause deadly illness, saturate the atmosphere with raw carcinogens building high levels of greenhouse gasses. Earthsygns.org

In fact, large jets powered by turbines are fuelled with kerosene (jet fuel), which fortunately doesn't contain tetraethyl lead (TEL): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_fuel The lead-pollution problem arises mainly with small, piston-engined (general aviation) aircraft, notably in the USA, where these use avgas that still contains this highly toxic additive: https://www.dropbox.com/s/apn2la9bn8xhyrz/friends%20of%20the%20earth%20report%20regarding%20lead%20fuel.pdf?dl=0 Friends of the Earth state in the above report that the majority of these small "commuter" aircraft could cope with unleaded fuel quite easily, so there is no excuse for the FAA to keep stalling. EASA is already rethinking its avgas rules.

Thanks for taking me to task, could we just talk about changing to electric propulsion, that is already in commercial production - there is no need for Jet A - which I worked with, or Avgas, which I worked with - both of which use leaded refinery processes. But of course, you are right, Jet A is a highly refined kerosene derivative - I have no problem adjusting my information. It just didn't help us solve the problem of 250 Jet Kerosene-driven passenger jets being built when safer, less costly, and more sustainable alternatives are readily available.

The trouble with this map is that it doesn't differentiate temperate grasslands and tropical savannas, with fire-adapted vegetation that burns naturally and thereby sequesters carbon in the soil, from forested ecosystems that shouldn't be burning.

Rain Falls on the Greenland IceCap Peak First time in recorded history. This is a sign of how advanced our climate change is, very far along. Even the IPCC doesn't capture, just how much the warming effects are doubling on top of doubling. The tipping point for the Arctic and polar ice is rapidly approaching. The production of CO2 as a product of Hydrogen distillation from water is actually the same as petroleum waste and spent uranium being stored in barrels underground. Even the best container will have condensation, bleed off and leaks. This is the uninformed thinking that created the nuclear waste problem. The distillation process does not need to produce CO2 at all. That runoff is from BPs poorly conceived process for mass producing H2. The simple electrolysis the creates H2 from H2O, needs a catalyst. There are simpler, more efficient safer and more climate friendly means, like on site distillation hydrogen fueling stations, in home distillation, in car systems and all using sea water, where just a change of a filter will take care of waste salts.

I think the biggest blockade in the way of us stopping this crisis is the fact even the people who deeply care about taking action against climate change aren’t willing to speak. Together, our voices could be heard but can’t seem to speak up about it.

Was the early reporting on the IPCC findings by NY Times, irresponsible? The New York Times released a reporting on the IPCC finding this morning, well before anyone could have read the entire report. Such reports are premature at best, misinformed at most times. They are obviously following the Summary for Policy Makers, (SPM) which is a short 39-page super-condensed version of the full report, which is 1300 pages. The technical summary (TS) is 4 times larger than the SPM. There must be a careful, fully digested understanding of this enormous document. Premature reporting is a plight in the media, especially in the USA, where it is seen as a more competent reporting if it is first. For this level of importance, we must turn away from the early reporting, and make an informed assessment of all the documents presented. The IPCC findings are of a level of importance we have not seen before. Reporting that seems to give absolute answers is harmful and unnecessary. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/09/climate/climate-change-report-ipcc-un.html

A Hotter Future Is Certain, Climate Panel Warns. But How Hot Is Up to Us.
Some devastating impacts of global warming are now unavoidable, a major new scientific report finds. But there is still a short window to stop things from getting even worse.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/09/climate/climate-change-report-ipcc-un.html
Is the NY Times being irresponsible in the early reporting of IPCC findings? The NY Times released a report on the IPCC report on the scientific basis for climate change, as we all know. Their reporting obviously followed the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) which was 39 pages. The technical summary (TS) is 150 pages, and the Full Report is 1300 pages. It might be reasonable to assume the NY Times reporting is premature at best. The world is very late in addressing Climate Change, and the Greenhouse Effect is now embedded in our climate. A call-to-action for much swifter responses is not only called for, from all quarters but it is required to avoid heating of the world that will be deadly to great hunks of the population of living things. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/09/climate/climate-change-report-ipcc-un.html

Jet liners last in service 40 - 60 years. Boeing is building over 100 new planes, that will all run on aviation gasoline an extremely destructive and toxic fuel. There is an already approved and confirmed design for an electric airliner, that could be a catharsis for the airline industry. Why isn't Boeing initiating this design? Could it be ExxonMobil is asking them not to? See this article coming soon in https://earthsygns.org

There may be a problem with Hydrogen, it has to be separated from water, and the emission is water, and a gas (Oxygen) the separation of salt, oxygen, and hydrogen, on a large scale can be a problem, as well as delivery of a volatile substance. It must be researched very carefully, separation must be done in-situ, not a delivery option - it is a very simple process and much less dangerous, we don't need another gasoline type delivery system. Thoughts? Do we need this, when a smaller, fill up with water and change a filter every week is more effective and less expensive?
