Project Drawdown conducts an ongoing review and analysis of climate solutions—the practices and technologies that can stem and begin to reduce the excess of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Our work shows the world can reach Drawdown by mid-century, if we make the best use of all existing climate solutions. Certainly, more solutions are needed and emerging, but there is no reason—or time—to wait on innovation. Now is better than new, and society is well equipped for transformation today. Project Drawdown has created an accessible free video course featuring different approaches to actively combatting climate change, backed up by expert discussions and downloadable slides. Spanish subtitles are available. https://drawdown.org/climate-solutions-101/unit-1-setting-the-stage Project Drawdown also provides links to informative standalone videos such as this one on decarbonising cement: https://medium.com/energy-impact-partners/making-concrete-a-climate-solution-7ccc360dbe65 and this one on reducing harms from food waste: https://thecounter.org/waste-climate-change-states-less-food-landfills/

Just idea, to keep everyone motivated. I participate in this challenge twice a year. Once, in the spring, for Project Drawdown. And once, in the fall for People's Ecochallenge, just sharing this challenge because,it's something fun to do, and educational. It keeps you motivated,to change when you find self starting to slip. 😄 The courses not only, teach you about climate change but, about healthy eating and even Veganism.Topics range from farming, agriculture, fitness, the planet and culture. For anyone, who would like to participate in this challenge, it's not too late. Go to www.earthmonth.ecochallenge.org or to find info on Project Drawdown go to www.drawdown.org.

About Project Drawdown The World’s Leading Resource for Climate Solutions Founded in 2014, Project Drawdown® is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help the world reach “Drawdown”— the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Since the 2017 publication of the New York Times bestseller, Drawdown, the organization has emerged as a leading resource for information and insight about climate solutions. We continue to develop that resource by conducting rigorous review and assessment of climate solutions, creating compelling and human communication across mediums, and partnering with efforts to accelerate climate solutions globally. Cities, universities, corporations, philanthropies, policymakers, communities, educators, activists, and more turn to Project Drawdown as they look to advance effective climate action. We aim to support the growing constellation of efforts to move climate solutions forward and move the world toward Drawdown—as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Project Drawdown is funded by individual and institutional donations. Our Vision Stopping global warming is possible, with solutions that exist today. In order to do this, we must work together to achieve Drawdown, the point when greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere start to decline. Our Mission Project Drawdown is helping the world stop global warming by achieving Drawdown — as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible. Our History Project Drawdown was initially co-founded in 2014 by Paul Hawken and Amanda Ravenhill to uncover the most substantive solutions to stop climate change, and to communicate them to the world.

Project Drawdown is a nonprofit organization which offers an extensive collective of solutions to the global climate crisis and to help us achieve “Drawdown”— the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. “Drawdown is the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. This is the point when we begin the process of stopping further climate change and averting potentially catastrophic warming. It is a critical turning point for life on Earth. Drawdown has become a seminal text on climate solutions, drawing on humanity’s collective wisdom about the practices and technologies that can begin to reverse the buildup of atmospheric carbon by mid-century. The material contained within the pages of Drawdown has influenced university curricula, city climate plans, commitments by businesses, community action, philanthropic strategy, and more. This website provides a supplemental list of references used in development of the book. The solutions content in the original book remains robust and relevant and its broader lessons still hold. For Project Drawdown’s latest analysis and insights, please see The Drawdown Review. Vision Stopping global warming is possible, with solutions that exist today. In order to do this, we must work together to achieve Drawdown, the point when greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere start to decline. Mission Project Drawdown is helping the world stop global warming by achieving Drawdown — as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible. History Project Drawdown was initially co-founded in 2014 by Paul Hawken and Amanda Ravenhill to uncover the most substantive solutions to stop climate change, and to communicate them to the world.” We would love to have Project Drawdown join us on We Don’t Have Time! Together we are the solution. 💚 https://www.drawdown.org/

Actually it is not dismissive against nuclear power, it points out the pros and cons, but it is dismissive against urban vertical farming. Besides that it is the most brilliant project in the world 🌟🤩😍🌱🍀🌳

Good book but is dangerously dismissive of nuclear energy. If we're serious about climate restoration, the biggest and most monumental task in human history (i.e. drawing down 1 trillion tonnes of carbon!) we are going to need *massive* amounts of energy. Nuclear provides 3 million times more energy for the same amount of material as renewables. Surely this is the kind of power we need to tackle a task of this magnitude? Nuclear has been proven to be as safe as wind and solar. Future generations will not forgive us for failing at climate restoration because we got caught up in anti-nuclear ideology or pro-renewables tribalism. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/01/22/climate-change-solution-nuclear-energy-our-best-hope-column/2821183001/

In most places nuclear energy cannot compete economically with wind, hydro and solar power.

The profound results are worth the time and effort put into this noble job.The planet needs solutions to it's vice (climate change) and providing such exemplary array of solutions leaves no room for excuses for not taking climate actions either by governments, various stakeholders, youths among others.
