The shelf life of packaging generally depends on the shelf life of the content, considering the resources and energy expended in the production, transportation and use of both the product and the packaging, the influence of the packaging on the "degree of sustainability" of the combination becomes meaningful. To fulfill its functions, the packaging is mainly subordinate to the content, the packaging becomes an intrinsic part of the product. The relationship between packaging and sustainability is twofold. By containing, protecting and preserving its contents, a container contributes to important aspects of sustainability such as health and the need for food, however, the energy required to produce the packaging is not always in balance with its relatively short shelf life. Therefore, it is understandable that the mission statements of many organizations in the field are directed at reducing packaging materials. However, important prerequisites such as compliance with packaging functions and prevention of product failure are missing. If a container fulfills its functions, it has a leverage role; its potential impact on the environment is less than the potential impact of the content. Packaging can make everything more sustainable. In other words, an investment in packaging can prevent a product from having an environmental impact that far outweighs the investment in packaging. That is why it is important that circular packaging strategies are considered, such as: Rethink, reuse, recycle and renew.

Excellent, nothing wrong with offsetting emissions as long as we reduce wherever we can. Well done.

This is what we want the businesses to do. Understand the problem, don't greenwash and try to defeat emissions. @Haglofs has definitely done It very well!
