Corruption is a way of wasting raw material unnecessarily. From my observations I saw some unnecessary works being done, I realized that the paving is fragile and has a rough and expensive process, so heavy vehicles pass through the site wearing down the pavement, the asphalt softens with the strong heat and heavy vehicles leave marks that wear away the asphalt precociously, creating holes, the holes are covered in a more fragile way that soon opens up again, this creates constant expenses that do not solve the problem, so, when the city decides to invest more heavily, they scrape the entire asphalted area to be renovated and redo all of it, however they work with heavy machines and compactors that burst the water pipes that pass below the area, so when the asphalt is ready the water utility needs to open the asphalt to change the damaged pipes and the asphalt goes back to being patched, this creates a vicious cycle that opens space even for over-invoicing budgets, so that contractors perceive the opportunity to and constant works. Our asphalt and plumbing technology may be obsolete, and I propose studies to find new solutions, a possible solution would be to create a box along the pipeline, a box that has covers, and these covers would facilitate access for the maintenance of water pipes without need to excavate or have large crews with heavy machinery. The cover should be white, as well as the new asphalt technology, because white reflects more infrared rays, so that it is possible to help cool the Earth while we work to improve it, this replacement would be done gradually as each municipality invests in asphalt reform, so that it does not impact the budget of each government, regarding the technology that would replace the current asphalt, we can use low-density, fire-resistant polyethylene as an example, but obviously it is just a guess and requires studies and research to choose the ideal material.

Telling it as it is from the Club of Rome and Earth4All. We knew what we needed to do 50 years ago. We still do. The trick is to get it done - and then equity, equality and empowerment is key.
Hello from UNEP@50, This historic event is both a celebration of the many years we’ve been working towards securing a greener future and a mournful remembrance of the time it has taken to get even this far. More than ever, with the release of the latest IPCC report, with the knowledge of energy security’s overwhelming impact on the current crisis in Ukraine, we need urgent and ambitious action to address the 2030 agenda. 2022IF, in collaboration with The Club of Rome, will be hosting a dialogue tomorrow 3 March 2022 at 17.00 EAT, both hybrid from Nairobi and online. If you would like to register to join on Zoom, use the link at the end of this post. We invite you to join in the dialogue, and to visit our website for more information about the program details at: https://www.2022initiative.org/help-us-build-this-unep50-side-event-into-a-global-phenomenon/ 2022IF is asking for participants from our Nairobi Dialogue and other Dialogue Hubs to record commitments here on the We Don’t Have Time platform. Please comment below with a few sentences about what you personally will do to work towards the SDGs. We suggest the following format: “I commit to reduce or increase….by …..x amount within …..x months” This could be increase my use of renewable energy, bio food, plant trees, biodiversity. Or it could be reduce food waste, use of dangerous chemicals reduce waste to landfill, etc. Corporations should have more ambitious commitments than private individuals or households. For example: Private person: My action towards the SDGs is to reduce C02 emissions by reducing household waste by composting all biodegradable waste. I will monitor this by measuring the waste and recording it over the next 3 months. Small Group: Our action as community of 10people is to increase biodiversity by restoring 10 hectares of land through regenerative land management practices by 2025 Large Organisation: Our action as an organisation is to reduce C02 emissions by increasing our use of renewable energy to 50% by June 2022 and eventually to 100% by 2025. That's an inspiring initiative! Individuals, communities, and organizations must take concrete https://drift-hunters.org actions like these to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and create a more sustainable future.

I commit to reduce my co2 footprint further by stop eating meat, using staircase rather than lift, walking more where necessary, and communicate more in terms of awareness about the effects of climate change.

My climate action to reduce CO2 -emissions is to keep educating on the climate crisis, it’s solutions and the personal leadership needed. I have stopped flying. And I will aim to live in line with the Paris agreement footprint. Right now more greens, no meat, less chicken and fish.

Problems surrounding the lack of transparency are not the only thing inhibiting trust in the governments. A lack of clarity, openness and education about every nation's recycling infrastructure and where recycling goes is equally problematic. As a global society we are increasingly concerned about the mountain of evidence highlighting environmental damage. Even if the younger generations consider the environmental issues as one of the most pressing concerns, there is a distinct lack of trust in the system because of the lack of education in the matter. Only a hand full of people trust the governments to ensure waste is recycled properly. Very little people are confident they put waste in the right bins and a sizable percentage of people believe general and recyclable waste all goes to the same place. Questions around how to recycle properly, how to buy sustainably packaged products and where recycling ends up, cloud an understanding of the system. Here's where we step in. Not only educating people and motivating the end users to recycle through our own RVM (reverse vending machines), app and payment system but we are also aiming to implement a tracking system that provides full transparency and statistics in the waste recycling industry. And all of this can be possible with the help of blockchain technology. All data will be available for examination by any government institution or any third party company interested as a service provider, keeping companies self aware of their own impact on the environment. Because Convert Carbon is using the blockchain technology, that means we will be able to track amounts of recycled products, offer impenetrable security, high transparency and traceability, low costs and high rewards because of the growing cryptocurrency market. The willingness to recycle has never been higher yet distrust in the current system risks derailing recycling efforts. The public are drastically changing how they consume to minimise landfill waste, yet the gap between public expectation and trust in the government to recycle properly is widening and will continue to rise unless immediate action is taken. This can easily be given a chance if governments at a local level will understand that a company as ours could really improve the transparency level, therefore the trust of the population in the recycling process would be heavily boosted. Support the recycling process, support us to educate more people on the impact they too can have on the environment through the simple recycling process. 49 years ago, on June 5, 1972, the world's first UN conference on the environment was inaugurated in Stockholm. Since then, World Environment Day is celebrated around the world on June 5, but few today know that day is celebrated because the Stockholm Conference started in 1972. At the Stockholm Conference, the UN Environment Program (UNEP) was formed, so Sweden's leadership in the 70s has been a great imprint in international environmental work. In the 1970s, the term “sustainable development” was not yet used, but economic and social issues were also discussed at the conference. Legendary is Indira Gandhi's words: "Poverty is the worst pollution". So the conference in many ways laid the foundation for the work that led to the decisions within the UN in 2015 on the global goals for sustainable development in Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. In June 2022, Sweden has the opportunity to once again demonstrate international leadership for sustainable development and contribute to creating hope for a future for children and young people that is worth believing in. On 2 - 3 June, the UN conference entitled "Stockholm + 50: A prosperous planet - our responsibility, our opportunity" will be held in Stockholm. I met Helena Lindemark the founder of Initiative 2022 4 years ago and she has worked tireless lobbying that Sweden should host a new UN conference in 2022. Amazing to see that it is going to happen next year. Read more about Initiative 2022: https://www.2022initiative.org/

Nicely putforth, a quick question are not asphalt the future proofing material rather than concrete or cement. why replace the current asphalt. Raw material washing is obsolete its the resource uptake and recovery that's making the difference. No uniform materiality that is reason for backlash
