Buying forest to protect it
Grön ungdom (Swedish green party youth association) has launched a initiative to buy forrest to protect it! Asking for people who support this to send them funds to help buy more together. Hey! Thank you for recognising and supporting our campaign All makt åt skogen (Power to the forest)! We think that forest preservation has to be an integral part of any policy with real ambition to tackle the climate crisis. We're mainly using this as a tool to spread the word about policymaking in regards to the Swedish forestry industry (which is a big thing in Sweden right now, with the Green party in government going toe-to-toe with the industry). Some of our suggestions are banning the practice of clearcut logging, protecting more forests from logging altogether and that state-owned forestry company Sveaskog get new governmental directives, to take more environmental consideration at the expense of maximisation of profit. BUT, if you want to contribute directly to protecting precious old forests you can do so by transferring any amount (literally any amount!) to: Bank: Swedbank Bic/swift: SWEDSESSXXX eller SWEDSESS, (it varies if you need 8 or 11 digits) IBAN: SE9780000816615340801744 Thanks again for your support! /Grön Ungdom
