Tuvalu and Ireland announce 2nd Conference on the Just Transition Away from Fossil Fuels

The official Transition Away website has been updated with new details on the second International Conference on the Just Transition Away from Fossil Fuels, which will take place in the Pacific in July 2027, hosted by the governments of Tuvalu and Ireland.
The Conference will bring together governments, industry experts, civil society stakeholders, international financing partners, and industry representatives to continue developing strategic pathways for the energy transition.
A pre-conference meeting will also be held in Ireland, with exact dates to be announced.

Contributions are encouraged

The Santa Marta Process aims to scale up international cooperation among states and non-state actors and will enable widespread participation. Between now and the Conference in Tuvalu, national and subnational governments, Indigenous Peoples and other sectors will have the opportunity to engage and contribute to the technical and political discussions.
The co-hosts have now launched an invitation to provide written inputs on enabling pathways for the transition, organized around the three thematic pillars of the upcoming conference.
The Tuvalu meeting will follow the first conference in Santa Marta, Colombia, in April 2026, which convened 57 countries and more than 1000 stakeholders to advance global commitments made under the Paris Agreement.
