WHY CLIMATE JUSTICE NEEDS GENDER JUSTICE - Info Slides

Women are taking the lead in driving climate solutions. 🌿
It is essential that women have access to equal rights, to education, to resources, to information, to equal pay and much much more.
Highlighting everyone’s role - including men’s - in promoting gender equality and challenging patriarchal structures must also be part of climate action. Climate policy needs to continue to recognise and integrate gender dimensions in order to become more effective.
Women are a smaller part of the problem and a bigger part of the climate solution!
Feel free to share your favourite inspirational people and organisations on the intersection of women’s rights, gender justice and climate justice in the comments! 💫

Usually we have issues of women not being included in climate decision making but I think that is currently being addressed.

@munene_mugambi You're right that the topic female representation (in general and in governments) is gaining more and more attention - but still, there remains a significant gap between the number of men and women holding political office in most places. It's crucial to create a more inclusive and equitable political environment, to address climate change and many other crises!

@mary_dosarah very well said! Only through recognizing the intersections of different identity aspects and forms of discrimination, it's possible to dismantle power structures and oppressions! And only then we can achieve a just and equitable future for all 🌿
