I read a lot about off shore wind power via on line sources, but I don't recall reading anything about initiatives from India, either at national or state level to utilise off shore wind power. India has around 7500km of coastline, according to a quick web search. It seems to be a shame that there's no effort to utilise what must be a potentially vast renewable power resource from this nation. Furthermore, this seems to be a missed opportunity to establish India as a manufacturer of wind turbines on a large scale. The fixed bottom and floating wind industries could be a vast new employer for the country. The USA, Brazil and many others are all waking up to this. Where is India on this?

India has been making great strides in its climate change commitments and in 2014 was the first country in the world to implement a CSR law, making it mandatory for all businesses to give 2% of their annual net profits to CSR initiatives.
