Climate idea

Nudge your customers to healthier and more sustainable habits with vegetarian or vegan defaults for preordered meals

When booking SJ train tickets with preordered meals (specifically breakfasts), they currently require the rapidly growing number of people who prefer vegetarian or vegan food to manually contact SJ customer support to specify their preferred diet. This is the exact opposite of nudging people to healthier and more sustainable habits, since you always should make it easy to make good choices. I also imagine this requires a lot of manual work from SJ's customer support, that could be simplified with some technical development. Therefore, I have two climate ideas I think SJ should implement: 1) Change the default option for all meals to vegetarian, or even vegan. This will nudge people to better habits, shifting the effort to manually select non-vego options to the people who still resist positive changes. And of course, more green meals would mean SJ could decrease the climate impact of train trips even further. 2) Add a feature to the SJ booking app + website to allow customers to select their preferred diets directly when purchasing tickets that include preordered meals. Currently, vegetarian or vegan breakfast packages are only available through manually contacting customer support, which is a poor customer experience. Once the dietary selection is implemented for all preordered meals, the default option should also be vegetarian or vegan. This would make it easier for customers, while also reducing the manual customer support tickets. Seems to align very well with SJ’s ambition to be a digital leader! SJ - we're looking forward to your reply! Image from SJ's official menu. The fact that they don't even show pictures of the vegetarian + vegan breakfast alternatives makes it extremely clear this is an area that could use several improvements! https://www.sj.se/sv/reseinfo/mat-pa-taget/bistron
