The ReSea project offers a model where you can pay to remove plastic from the ocean, 1kg of plastic for every 8 euro. They operate in areas of the world that contribute most to the global problem of plastic pollution. To meet these challenges, they seek out and employ local communities, such as fishermen who reside in coastal areas. They provide great guidance in their environmental surveillance of different areas of the sea. They are familiar with the local water conditions, making them ideal to be part of our cleanup team. The ReSea Project is in alignment with six Sustainable Development Goals including: 1. End Poverty 8. Decent work and economic growth 12. Responsible consumption and production 13. Climate action 14. Life below water 17. Partnerships for the goals https://youtu.be/5SJsXfnBZu8

Hi everyone! Thanks for the interest in our cleanup solution. We have just updated our profile description and made another post to tell you more about what we do, in case you want to know more. We are actually just the second only organization in the world to be certified to DNV's standard for reclaimed plastic from the hydrosphere, meaning that we create the highest level of traceability of the plastic recovered from oceans and rivers. This allows companies to support our cleanup efforts with confidence, as we can trace back the plastic to its origin, and it allows us to prove our impact. With our daily cleanup missions carried out by people in local communities, we are improving the lives of our cleanup team and their families. In the period from October 2020 -February 2021, the average monthly wage per collector was +75% higher than the minimum wage in Jakarta.
