During a moose session, an idea was born that might conquer the world. At least the part of the world where there are hungry ungulates that like to eat pine cones.
Five years and about 20 different prototypes later, the production of EcoTall is underway. It is a small hood that you put on the pine tops to protect the shoots from becoming food for moose and other ungulates. The material is described as a mixture of sawdust and starch but which still has a plastic-like surface.
To make sure that moose really do not like EcoTall, they went to a moose park and tried to trick the moose into eating the top protection, but the moose did not let themselves be fooled. "For safety's sake, we made it yellow," says Fredrik Hjalmarsson.
The company Skogstoppen Innovation AB is owned by Fredrik Hjalmarsson and his employer Plastinject in Anderstorp.
