Use local personnel
SVT is financed by our taxes and there are quite often program about the climate crisis and how big the problem is. Therefore I would suggest to SVT to use local personnel for their own productions. You couldn’t defend to have people flying from Stockholm to Umeå (north of Sweden) every day, when SVT have competent personnel on site.

This is a super important message and engagement. In fact, SVT is already very aware of this issue. We use (more) environmentally friendly transports as much as we can, both for employees and guests, and try to interview multiple guests on each journey on the occasions where we have to fly somewhere, for example, in order to keep achieving our mission - to provide coverage of the world. Another example of how we work to reduce our emissions and climate footprint is the coverage of the American election, where we use relatively few reporters who are on site for a longer period of time, instead of flying there new or going back and forth when something new comes up. We can also see that in "PĂĄ spĂĄret", where most features from other countries are done by our correspondents who are already on site and working. Thank you for sending this engagement to us!
