US plans to kill 500000 barred owls to save northern spotted owl

The animals rights activists and animal welfare organization remains sceptical about the plan and has signed a letter opposing the plan saying it's a reckless plan. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/apr/06/kill-barred-owl-save-spotted-conservation

What are the benefits of killing them??? It's absolutely not the right manner and should not be left in the air without fighting for their rights.

Not really pleasing..... They should let all of them coexist.

This is so reckless of the US government. I stand with the animal rights activists. Killing such a number of owls will deal a big blow to the ecosystem.
