Narrative strategies for communicating the climate crisis

Repost from @climatestudents HOW CAN WE COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY ABOUT THE CLIMATE CRISIS? 💬🌍📢 In the webinar arranged by Researchers Desk, we hear some thoughts on how we can and should communicate about the climate. An important and interesting conversation with many practical tips: 👉 The climate crisis is not an issue amongst other environmental issues, it's an existential threat - Johan Rockström 👉 Adapt the narrative to the target group: the climate crisis affects most areas, e.g. increase pandemics, refugees and worsen the economy - Johan Rockström 👉 We must be honest with the risks, and that every tonne of carbon dioxide we store reduces that risk - Björn Wiman 👉 Talk about your own fears and what made you decide to act - Per Espen Stocknes 👉 See the whole conversation here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtopfI5KPx4&pbjreload=102

@ResearchersDesk Thanks for your reply! Looking forward to highlight more of your important work in the future! I've got some ideas for how to improve climate coverage in the media with @klimatnytt and https://klimatnytt.org. Let's talk more next year and discuss how we could collaborate - but let's continue that in january 2021 :)

This is a very useful debate and a hugely important area. Our collectives brains do seem to struggle with accepting the information that is out there. I think hard about how to approach concepts through my lyrics. It’s always interesting to hear how psychologist advise us based on their understanding of human biases and common reactions.

@Greenheart thanks so much! Yes I like the way this one turned out to!! Enjoying the more acoustic vibes. Producer did a great job. Our new stuff soon to come out is closer to this :-) plus don’t think this song could have had a more apt back drop politically just now!
