Very important! The lack of transparency in "public" data is creating a bigger breach and condoning the lack of climate action. It'd be great to have a platform to see true and real data allowing citizens to held accountable the responsables of the climate crisis.

It's a great idea coming together for this cause. New innovative methods will need to be created to leverage open software for climate action. Maybe a brainstorming session could be organized.

Sure! I can already tell that there will be a hackathon in Uppsala, Sweden in early December. More details here: https://klimathack.se Then I'll follow up based on what happens with this pledge and discussions here!

Sounds interesting indeed. We started something similar except we are (growth) hackers from the startup world as well as young politicians, consultants and founders. Are you all based in Sweden?

Thanks for your comment Maximilian! That sounds like a perfect mix of backgrounds. It's important to bring different perspectives into creative projects if you want to find the best solutions. We're currently based in Sweden - but I'm used to working remotely with GitHub to collaborate with people from all over the world. https://freeCodeCamp.org is one example I've worked with. If there are more people from other countries - I think it's possible to organize an online hackathon.

Thinking about an online hackathon: Let's say we could use GitHub to collaborate on projects, some video conferencing tool for community building, and perhaps a chat room to hang out and find support during the event. What do you think about that?
