We are all contributing to this mountain of waste, but there are ways to reduce the impact. Embarking on a journey with hard-to-recycle plastic, Delhi based Manveer aka ‘Plasticvalla’, aims to transform environmental concerns into art. His work is deeply inspired by individuals like Rabindranath Sahu of Odisha (western India), who dedicates his life to cleaning Rushikulya Beach for the nesting of the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles. This dedication underpins his artistic narrative, emphasizing the urgent need for environmental stewardship. His work over the last few years led to his participation in the AFD-Metis Artist Exchange program in Lomé, Togo, in August 2023, that was a platform for community engagement and environmental activism. Through workshops, he introduced the concept of Habit-Changer-Boxes, promoting sustainable waste management practices among the local communities. This project also highlighted the plight of Africa's migrating Zebras, a reminder of the habitat loss faced by wildlife globally due to deforestation and urban development. 'Unity,' a public installation at DLF Promenade (in collaboration with Desee Art) for Earth Day 2023, embodies his commitment to sustainability. This giant turtle, crafted from MLP wrappers and plywood, symbolizes the collective effort required to mitigate plastic pollution. In Bir, Himachal Pradesh, his installation of the Himalayan Griffon vulture addresses the critical issue of species endangerment due to climate change. Through such installations, working with the community to gather the waste, he strives to inspire change, encouraging people to adopt eco-conscious practices and foster a deeper connection with our planet. The ‘Habit Changer Boxes’ are daily reminders of our consumption! Manveer’s work has been recognized and featured by various media outlets, thanks to efforts of Team Desee Art, amplifying the message of environmental conservation and sustainable living. @plasticvalla @manveergautam @desee.art #plastic #art #plasticvalla #india #artport_mw

We are all susceptible to plastic pollution and harm. For example, er have all engulfed micro plastics and possibly continue to through different foods and or water. Any and all recycling, reusing and or reduction plans based on plastics have my full support and should count on yours as well.

I accede with them but still they should ensure that even if they are recycling plastic, those plastics been recycled are not polluting the environment.

Introduction: In the ever-evolving landscape of the digital era, the United States has consistently been at the forefront of technological innovation. The realm of website development in usa is no exception, with the country serving as a hub for cutting-edge technologies, diverse talent, and groundbreaking ideas. This article explores the evolution of website development in the USA, tracing its roots, highlighting key milestones, and examining the current trends that shape the industry. Historical Perspective: The history of website development in the USA can be traced back to the early days of the internet. The World Wide Web, created by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1989, laid the foundation for the development of websites. As the internet gained popularity, American developers played a pivotal role in shaping its trajectory. During the 1990s, the USA witnessed a surge in the creation of static HTML websites. These basic sites provided information but lacked the dynamic functionality seen in contemporary websites. As technology advanced, developers began experimenting with server-side scripting languages, paving the way for more interactive and engaging web experiences. The Dot-Com Boom: The late 1990s and early 2000s marked the dot-com boom, a period of rapid growth in the technology sector. This era saw the emergence of e-commerce giants and an increased demand for skilled website developer services. Companies like Amazon and eBay became pioneers in online retail, driving the need for sophisticated websites with secure payment gateways. Web 2.0 Revolution: The mid-2000s witnessed the transition to Web 2.0, characterized by user-generated content, social media, and interactive web applications. American companies such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter played instrumental roles in shaping this paradigm shift. Web developers began focusing on creating responsive and user-friendly interfaces, embracing technologies like AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) to enhance the user experience. Mobile Revolution and Responsive Design: The proliferation of smartphones in the late 2000s prompted a shift towards mobile-first development. With the advent of responsive design, websites could adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes, providing a consistent user experience across devices. American developers, particularly in Silicon Valley, led the charge in optimizing websites for mobile platforms, influencing global development practices. Era of Content Management Systems (CMS): The 2010s witnessed the widespread adoption of Content Management Systems like WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla. These platforms empowered users with limited technical expertise to create and manage websites easily. American developers contributed significantly to the development of these CMS, making website creation more accessible to a broader audience. Rise of Full-Stack Development: In recent years, the demand for full-stack developers has risen substantially. A full-stack developer possesses expertise in both front-end and back-end development, allowing for end-to-end project execution. American tech companies, particularly startups, have embraced the versatility of full-stack developers, driving the evolution of this holistic approach to website development. Current Trends in Website Development: As of 2023, several trends are shaping web application development company in usa. Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are gaining popularity for their ability to provide a native app-like experience within a web browser. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning are being integrated into websites for personalized user experiences and enhanced functionality. E-commerce continues to evolve, with emphasis on seamless user journeys, secure payment gateways, and immersive product experiences. The increasing importance of cybersecurity has led to the development of secure coding practices and the integration of advanced security measures into websites. Conclusion: The journey of website development in the USA reflects a continuous pursuit of innovation, adaptability, and user-centric design. From the early days of static HTML to the current era of AI-driven web applications, American developers have played a pivotal role in shaping the digital landscape. As technology continues to advance, the future of website development in the USA promises even more exciting possibilities, with developers at the forefront of creating the next generation of online experiences.

Here is a shout out to a citizen-artist movement from a small region on the West coast of India! AMCHE MOLLEM (MY MOLLEM) GOA The Amche Mollem citizen’s movement, since 2020, is driven by citizen action, positions art and culture right alongside scientific and legal strategies against 3 mega-infrastructure projects - a high tension electricity transmission line, the doubling of a railway track, and highway expansion; cutting through the sensitive biodiverse Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary & Mollem National Park, Goa (Western India). Through community work, it focuses on protecting the integrity of the 150-million-year-old Western Ghats. It has created spaces for Goans from all walks of life to express their relationship to the natural world through art. Crucial to a changing world that is gripped by a zoonotic virus and climate change, the Amche Mollem artists of this campaign are citizens first and work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Through visual storytelling they unravel complex scientific research, legal concepts, and explain systems of governance. The ongoing campaign has led to positive reinforcements in citizen participation and conclusive legal outcomes. The transmission line was successfully realigned and the railway environmental clearance was revoked by the Supreme Court. Citizens still await the highway expansion verdict. Among the varied public engagements that they have led, ‘The Case of the Missing Species’ was an interactive public art installation that stemmed from absent science-based facts that are used to make decisions detrimental to Goa’s future. It brought large scale sculptural depictions of these creatures that were omitted from the EIAs (environmental impact assessment), to Goa’s capital city. Through the act of sharing and collaboration, and the use of postcards as tools of communication, this installation was completed over the duration of the Serendipity Arts Festival 2022 by citizens and visitors alike. If you want to people to conserve something , to take care of something, you first have to make them fall in love with it. Right? We want you to fall in love wirh the ocean! And this is why we celebrate the ocean always! What about some information about the European country Denmark, their Wadden Sea region and the phenomenon of dike (or dyke) construction? Maybe some of you have never seen a dike in that area before. It is a unique experience to walk on a North Sea dike during a heavy storm. We lend some words from the Danish Coastal Authority: https://kyst.dk/english/coastal-protection-in-denmark/ “Coastal protection has been carried out in Denmark for centuries. The history of dike construction in the Wadden Sea dates back to around 1000 A.D., when farmers built the first large banks of soil, protecting the farmland against sea flooding. Protection against erosion in terms of constructions such as groynes, rubble mound breakwaters and revetments was introduced in Denmark with the construction of the first test groynes on the west coast of Jutland in 1876-83, while nourishment with sand was introduced in 1974. In Denmark, generally the landowners are responsible for protecting their land against the sea. Consequently, the owner of the property, must request permission to establish coastal protection and pay the costs construction, operation and maintenance.” Rising sea levels due to climate change have made dike construction and maintenance pivotal for land and people. Our artist Tue Greenfort will work on this in the framework of WE ARE OCEAN Wadden Sea in the Danish region curated my Julia Moritz. We are so much looking forward to this!

Interesting! Do you know already now how the diking affects the ocean quality or the water retention in the soil? Diking farmlands in other situations has turned out to reduce soil quality, but it might be different if it is close to the ocean.

Is the black and white storytelling helpful in revealing the truth? Our #wednesdayoceanplaces leads us to Indonesia. Image 1 shows us something which we believe is Indonesia in general: beautiful intact under water world and healthy mangroves. This is true for same parts. But then you have image 2, which is the reality of many coastal areas in Indonesia, particularly the dense urban region around Jakarta. Image 1 is by the underwater photographer Alex Mustard for Ocean Image Bank. Image 2 is by the artists Tita Salina and Irwan Ahmett. The Indonesian artists walk along the coastline as part of their project Ziarah Utara / Pilgrimage to the North to highlight the struggle of one of Asia´s megacities: Jakarta. On Friday we will speak more about their project and the artists. For us it is important that our readers and visitors, our participants understand a bit more each time about the ocean, about what is at stake, about how much human activities are impacting the environmental balance. We want to show what is there and what needs to be protected. And how much artists are engaged in this. And sometimes it is the black and white story which opens our eyes.

To love to protect the ocean you need to love the ocean. Do you agree? Our Wednesdays are dedicated to bringing ocean places and their particular climate change challenges to you. This post will take you to the Mesoamerican Reef today. As you might remember we are currently working on the project #weareocean_honduras together with several partners such as Rare Foundation and co-funders The Lighthouse Foundation. We wont speak about details of the project yet but we would like to highlight how climate change is affecting ocean health on the Caribbean Coast of Honduras: The challenge: We are quoting https://research.fit.edu/media/site-specific/researchfitedu/coast-climate-adaptation-library/latin-america-and-caribbean/central-america/USAID.--Vulnerability-Analysis-to-CC-in-the-Caribbean,-Belize,-Guatemala--Honduras..pdf “Coastal and marine habitats are seriously disturbed by human activities through overfishing, contamination, sedimentation and tourism activities; and weather variability and climate change will substantially worsen these conditions.“ “The ocean performs key functions that are critical for the climate through its close link with the atmosphere by storing heat, carrying it to all different regions of the planet, evaporating masses of water, freezing and thawing polar regions, and storing and exchanging gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) (Herr and Galland 2009).” “These changes are interrelated and create synergies that increase the strength of their effects and subsequent impacts on ecosystems and people. For example, higher air temperatures and direct sunlight increase sea surface and sea column temperature which in turn change rainfall patterns, increase hurricanes ́ strength, expand water volumes and raise sea level. These effects finally increase the strength of the marine currents, tides, waves, rainfall and winds that affect the coast, producing coastal erosion, flooding, salt water intrusion, the destruction of vegetation and human infrastructure as well as important changes to the ecosystems (USAID et al. 2009).” Next week we will tell you a bit more about possible solutions for the local communities and how art can help to create synergies. Our ocean and seas worldwide need to be protected more. We want to give a quick insight into one of those miracles: The Wadden Sea. I hope you agree that interdisciplinary work connecting science and society through the arts and informal education is one of the tools which can help to improve ocean protection. We are currently planning several #weareocean_globalprogram projects for different ocean regions worldwide: #themediterraneansea #thenorthsea #theatlanticocean #thepacificocean #thearcticocean. These projects are addressing many ocean topics. The overall WE ARE OCEAN Global Program is a UNESCO endorsed UN Ocean Decade Action. And it is time to speak a bit about the Wadden Sea and the tidal system which is so unique to the area and brings a rich biodiversity. “The Wadden Sea is the largest tidal flats system in the world, where natural processes proceed largely undisturbed. It extends along the coasts of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands. For its globally unique geological and ecological values the Wadden Sea is listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Nowhere else in the world is there such a dynamic landscape with a multitude of habitats, shaped by wind and tides. Global biodiversity is reliant on the Wadden Sea. In the framework of the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands take on the responsibility of preserving this irreplaceable ecosystem for the benefit of present and future generations.” https://www.waddensea-worldheritage.org Did you ever do a “Wattwanderung”, a march through the Wadden Sea? If not, please put this on your to-do-list for your life. It is an amazing experience sensing the wind, the water, the mud, the tiny animals, the bigger ones and our dependence on nature, our fragility as human beings. We invited three artists to come on board of #weareocean_waddensea: Sophia Bulgakova, Tue Greenfort and Insa Winkler. They all will speak about different topics of the Wadden Sea. Please stay tuned. The curators are Julia Moritz (for Tue Greenfort in Denmark), Anastasia Loginova (for Sophia Bulgakova in The Netherlands) and Anne-Marie Melster (for Insa Winkler in Germany).

Hey ocean and art lovers. Welcome back to our WE ARE OCEAN people’s day! Do you agree that we can only create smart and meaningful projects creating social impact with the right people behind it? Not only smart minds, but also engaged personalities with a warm mindset, generous individuals dedicated to positive change? We have the pleasure of handing over the microphone to our beloved WE ARE OCEAN Berlin-Brandenburg artist Lisa Rave. She conducted the artistic workshops of the project in Berlin in 2019, created the beautiful film WE ARE OCEAN Berlin-Brandenburg (funded by the Berliner Sparkasse) together with the participating students which we screen since then all over the world. Her work as an artist at the intersection of ocean literacy and informal dedication is so important for us. She stimulated the young people to become an active part not only in the creation of an artistic film, but also in ocean protection. We are currently producing the book about the project (with the generous support of the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie, which will be launched in summer 2022) and want to give a tiny glimpse into what Lisa wrote: “There is an urgency to think about which scope of action we have and where it has to be claimed - without completely capitulating in the face of the great challenges. After all, the future is determined by current actions. The work with the young people describes an attempt to capture fragments of this current situation, to make connections visible together with them, to question existing structures collectively, but above all to activate possible futures … “. Thank you, Lisa, for being such a valuable part of the WE ARE OCEAN Global Program! Do you agree that seagrass, particularly Posidonia, is extremely important to protect the Mediterranean? Another Wednesday where we take you to ocean places which you might be curious to understand. And which are part of our WE ARE OCEAN Global Program. What about some posidonia? On Monday we talked about this beautiful topic in the framework of INTO THE OCEANIC in Scotland. Today we bring you to warmer temperatures: The Mediterranean! The Mediterranean seagrass is called Posidonia and many research institutes and also artists work on this. Today we “borrow” the text from the @savetheposidoniaproject: “Oceanic Posidonia Oceanic Posidonia is a marine plant, and not an alga, which has root, stem, leaves, fruits and flowers. It forms meadows between the surface and the 40 meters of depth in waters of great quality like those of Formentera. It is an endemic species in the Mediterranean and, since 1999 specifically the meadow of the Natural Park of Ses Salines d'Eivissa and Formentera was declared a World Heritage Site. Posidonia Posidonia represents one of the most important natural values of the island (Formentera), since it has an important function in sediment filtration thus giving a unique transparency, it contributes to maintain the quality and oxygenation of the submarine ecosystem where more than 400 species of marine plants and 1,000 species of marine animals are feeding and breeding; many of them used in the Balearic gastronomy and, finally, the Posidonia berms on the sand avoid beach erosion. Extension of Posidonia ….. The Balearic Islands have an extension of 55,795 hectares of Posidonia meadows, of which 7,650 hectares correspond to the waters of Formentera. This translates into 76.5 million square meters to protect only in Formentera..” Please help us keep the Posidonia intact and support its reconstruction. We will keep you posted! Image: INTO THE OCEANIC by Elizabeth Ogilvie and Robert M Page We are working with all teams worldwide on our WE ARE OCEAN Global Program to be able to deliver strong projects in several countries this year, as part of the UN Ocean Decade, since we were endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade Action with the program. Before presenting all the projects which are currently under development, one of the WE ARE OCEAN Sápmi, we will highlight some of our most cherished ocean topics. Many of you now that we are building the bridge between science and civil society through the arts and that our strength and expertise is informal education. Our director Anne-Marie Melster is a pioneer at this intersection and has produced many interdisciplinary projects worldwide since 2005. You will hear more about all our activities in the coming weeks and months, because we aim at creating an ocean protection movement in the arts and in education, particularly giving the young people a voice. But first comes first: Our today's ocean topic is seaweed! On Mondays we are highlighting particular topics regarding our #belovedocean. Today we want to take you to Scotland where many people, from seaweed foragers to artists and marine scientists are extremely engaged with the protection of the ocean. And seaweed is one of the thrilling themes we want to highlight throughout our work. Seaweed have an important role in the intertidal ecosystem. Temperature heavily influences the survival, growth, and reproduction of seaweeds. They are also considered as a carbon sink. And they are certainly very nutritious as well which alarmed the Scottish Government to restrict wild seaweed foraging. Walking along the Scottish beaches you find a lot of seaweed washed upon the shore. Many stories to be told. Our Scottish artists Elizabeth Ogilvie and Robert M Page produced a beautiful documentary which is among other topics highlighting the importance of seaweed and kelp as well. They invited many diverse experts in the context of the ocean who altogether create a beautiful narrative. Stay tuned for further screenings of their film!

I like that they talked deeply about human psychology and unity because it's about what we think, want, and do that affects our environment.
