'Sultan al-Jaber, the president of the COP28 climate conference in Dubai, hailed "the first decision to be adopted on day one of any COP” — and his country, the United Arab Emirates — would chip in $100 million to the fund. Other countries stepped up with big-ticket commitments, including Germany, also at $100 million.' The Time Magazine time.com/6341016/climate-loss-and-damage-fund-cop28 Let's compare it to the damage from oil in USD. - oil adds a third of the world's total carbon emissions. - In aggregate, the climate change-attributed costs of extreme weather over 2000–2019 are estimated to be US 2.86 trillion, or an average of US 143 billion per year. Opinion: The payment seems like an attempt to cover the damages from oil to make it look like climate neutral product. 😐 Greenwashing we say here in Europa.

African countries sure do have along way to go. This is an industry we should explore. For our planet and for employment as well.

This is so worrying especially considering that Africa is the worst hit by climate change effects. Civil education must be invested in to save the continent.

Investing in diverse renewable energy sources alongside biofuels can build a more resilient and sustainable energy mix.

No this a terrible idea. Biofuels and therefore more bio production will increase co2 output. If you really need fuel, like fir airplanes, make synthetic fuels from co2 in the air. You can produce them at the location needed, so no world wide shipment. You need to use clean energy for this of course. Biofuels are not to be made from anything else then waste streams.

This idea is good but we need more research and more finding to affirm weather this idea is workable
