Ikea has partnered with Flow Loop to design a shower attachment that enables them to reuse water. This attachment could help households reduce their water consumption by up to 80%, and energy usage by as much as 70%, compared to a regular shower. https://designtaxi.com/news/420815/IKEA-To-Launch-An-Innovative-Shower-Solution-That-Recycles-Water/

The current model of giving people points for purchasing products so they can purchase more is not sustainable. Why not give people rewards only for sustainable actions e.g. repurposing, learning about the environment, using eco-friendly delivery options, etc? These points can only be used for sustainable goods and services.

Have "nature" as a member of the United Nations to ensure there is a voice for future generations I am inspired by Faith In Nature which gave 'Nature' a place on its executive board and a vote in business decisions for its company. Why don't we give nature a key voice in key global decision making policy and legislation? This will help ensure that the planet and our future generations get a say in decisions that affect them, and have a voice in the process. https://www.businessgreen.com/feature/4058072/nature-boss-meet-company-nature-voting-seat-board

Barilla released a Passive Cooking campaign and Passive Cooker product that helps save the planet and reduce energy bills. It is based on a simple ancient technique to cook pasta off the heat i.e. keeping the lid on and using residual heat for cooking. Their cooker product allows people to use the optimal cooking time and alerts them when the food is ready. Even though it is a small change, it has a big impact. Over 400 million portions of pasta are served every day. This technique can reduce CO2 production by cooking pasta by 80%. https://www.barilla.com/en-gb/passive-cooking

This year the CEO of tobacco business Philip Morris International called on the UK government to ban cigarettes within a decade, which would effectively ban its Marlborough brand. I am calling on fast fashion brands to do the same and force themselves to innovate and innovate fast to protect the environment. We need the fashion industry to set a date to ban fast fashion and move towards a sustainable model of doing business.

Last weekend I participated in a hackathon with a friend. We worked on an app idea called Chameleon - Chameleon helps people who have lost their jobs or have been furloughed transition to a career green energy through micro learning modules on the energy sector (and later a community; mentoring; and job matching). They would be trained for the jobs for now and in the future. The initial focus is on aviation engineers because they have a lot of transferrable skills relevant to roles such as engineering roles in on and offshore wind and safety engineer at a hydrogen facility. In the UK alone there might be up to 200 thousand job losses in the aviation sector and its supply chain. In May 2020, Airline SAS cuts up to 5,000 jobs due to pandemic . Here is a video of the wireframes for the app - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5lvwvyp2S0&t=1s They are a bit basic but could be improved upon in the future.

This is a great way to create and harness engagement in one's community. The We Don't Have Time Climate Dialogue tool can be used to make this kind of community engagement much easier. Thank you for the ideas on how to take advantage of this engagement in a beneficial way!

Yes, you could add informal tracked learning modules to this app and we can can do it

I just want to share a blog post I wrote about communicating the importance of biodiversity. I am passionate about education, community and the environment. I would love your comments, thoughts and feedback. Should I try and develop a Tamagotchi for sustainability? https://medium.com/@krushton/three-ways-to-communicate-the-importance-of-biodiversity-dcebc15490db

Gamification is a very interesting idea for communicating values that aren't immediately obivous, like biodiversity. Especially, getting people to get in touch with nature and appreciate the way it looks is also a strong way to foster a care for biodiversity, as it gives people a feeling of what they may lose if they don't care about it. Thanks for the interesting ideas!

"83 per cent” of British kids “were unable to identify a bumblebee, according to researchers who showed pictures of British wildlife and plants to 1,000 children between the age of five and 16." The Independent, 14 August 2019 Problem: If the next generation can't identify and name local wildlife how we expect them to protect and conserve some of our most important species. Solution: How might we make wildlife identification just as interesting to the younger generation as other competing activities? "Harness gamification from Pokemon Go to make wildlife identification fun and playful" So, I started to develop Wild Spy - Pokemon Go for wildlife identification as part of a UX bootcamp project. Find out more about Wild Spy here - https://uxfol.io/project/0445c4b1/Wild-Spy Please do get in touch if you are a developer and would like to help me develop this project.

Will it be delivered to Georgia? I would also like to have a user-friendly price because everyone can afford it. We have some IKEA products in Georgia, but when I check the prices, despite the quality , the prices are so expensive that most customers use alternatives that might be of the same quality but less eco-friendly.
