For those in Stockholm, don't miss the chance to watch live a great seminar with very special guests such as Ingmar Rentzhog (Yes you understood correctly...the CEO of We Don't Have Time), Charlie Andersson, (European Youth Parliament Sweden) and Louise Lindén (LiveGreen festivals). The speakers will discuss questions about our future - how cultural and creative industries can play a decisive role in sustainability and climate issues, both locally, nationally and in Europe. The talk will investigate which perspectives these speakers who are active in cultural policy and the cultural sector can offer sustainability issues that were previously missing or need to be strengthened. The seminar is in Swedish. Read more and register here: https://www.intercult.se/klimat-och-kultur-hur-arbetar-kulturen-i-sverige-och-europa-for-en-gronare-och-mer-hallbar-framtid/

S.O.S Climate Waterfront workshop in Rome left us with the best memories! During this workshop, Intercult presented their projects on how culture and art can play a crucial role in raising awareness and addressing the climate crisis. 🌿 Iwona Preis and Elisavet Papageorgiou showcased the connection between cultural heritage, culture, and waterfronts through projects such as Memory of Water, I Improve, Connecting Georgia, and the role of art in the environmental movement through Nordic Talks.🌊 💚We at Intercult share the conviction with Wedonthavetime.org, a review platform and social media network for those dedicated to tackling climate issues, that culture can make a difference. 🌺This presentation was a reminder that our connection to culture is a key factor in creating positive change. #CultureAndClimate #InspiringSolutions #ArtForThePlanet #culturemakesthedifference #sosworkshop
As Nordic Talks mentioned building social cohesion in your local community can in itself significantly influence the levels of climate action. So join forces with your neighbours and make a change through your local community. I was looking for a podcast in this direction. Thank you for sharing this!
Being a participant in S.O.S. Climate Waterfront project in Stockholm, I found it very interesting to experience the city in a totally different way. During this combined conference and workshop, we explored the waterfronts of the city, worked on actual case studies of city ports and old post industrial areas, met representatives of the city and large organisations and companies working consciously with sustainable development and discussed about the city, the cultural context, architecture, infrastructure and climate change. Stockholm is the ideal city to study its waterfronts and the Swedish sustainability approach is a lesson to us all! Thank you Intercult and KTH University for giving me this opportunity! Quite commendable really
🎈“If you don’t have a big idea it is fine. If you are working locally it is better. The smallest action can help to save the world!” 🎈“Invite your neighbours for a coffee and start connecting with them. Start to find the questions and answers in your neighbourhood.” 🎈“The municipalities need to involve community by asking them to take initiatives to prevent the climate change. By cultural activities you make it a pleasure and fun for people to do it!” These were the key suggestions of the experts that took place in the Nordic Talk with title “How can culture / artists contribute to the social resilience of the city?“ and the speakers from different backgrounds shared their unique point of view. Watch the full event here https://www.youtube.com/watch?fbclid=IwAR3bnYucg039eZ-8ViSaDP0voKcCuq-qIrBmdfi0o8GCJ_TwA3T3IZ7eNow&v=7xv3XyrEP-k&feature=youtu.be As Intercult claims, climate change is a cultural challenge that requires action here and now and culture makes the difference in the climate change debate. .Let's start working in this direction!
