The White House is calling on OPEC and its oil-producing allies to boost production in an effort to combat climbing gasoline prices, amid concerns that rising inflation could derail the economic recovery from Covid. WTF! I can’t really believe this! The concern should be about devastating climate change! Not economic inflation! I am stunned. Joe Biden must stop this madness. US can never be taken seriously if this is how they act! There's still a fixation with our current economic model and it's failing to address the problem. We need Kate Raworth's Doughnut economics and Jason Hickel's degrowth.
•

The invisible hand 🖐️ on one side... The GHG emissions will go on the accounts of OPEC countries and not the US. And on the other side... Use the call for lower gas prices (oil increase), as a short term political tool to gain congress support (or not increase ammunition for Republicans) for the US$ 1T Infrastructure Bill and the new US$ 3.5T Health, Education, Climate Bill. He is moving the pawns ♟️on the chess board.

M.A.A.S Mangrove trees are a source of abundance, providing shelter and food to many species including humans. Mangroves are often found at the merging point of ocean and river water, and this is why mangroves are at risk. Interrupting the flows of sediments interrupts the services these ecosystems provide to the community. WE MUST PROTECT THE MANGROVES.

Spaceship Earth An Astronaut on 'Oumuamua looking at the Earth-moon system. Inspired by the idea of a “spaceship economy” understanding that this is the only spaceship capable 5of harboring billions of life-forms, that it’s been5 a steady ship running autonomously for billions of years and that it only took us two century to ruin the aeration and water recycling system. We don’t have to escape anywhere, we just need to care for the amazing ship and natural satellite shield we already have. Originally published as the cover art for Pincipium Much love to you all <3

I'm not familiar with your previous work, but I really like this piece! 😊 The planet really is the only "spaceship" anywhere in sight that can autonomously and continuously regenerate the resources that it needs to carry on (and all of the species that call it home). And you're right, even though space is cool and has a beauty to it, we should care for the ship we already have 🌎❤

So then riddle me this, why are people plonking billions of dollars into space exploration when there’s nothing much to see other than what we can see with telescopes and remotely operated solutions.

Digital sculpture tribute to CEIBA, a square rigged schooner in construction is set to launch and deliver carbon-negative cargo shipping for regenerative products that want to do serious decarbonizing work. A flagship example of the regenerative wind economy many are dreaming of. Bright futures await communities who harness the sun and listen to the wind!

# seeds of résistance Inspired by protesters, journalists, academics, and organizers of the climate movement. Millions of activists in the streets, thousands risking and losing their lives to stop extraction in the global south. The ecological transition cannot be stopped from growing, but billions will be invested in delay tactics. This movement will have to be kinder than ever before, it will have to think in systems, protect the seeds of resistance until together we gather the courage to lead an entire civilization beyond extractivism.

Thank you for the kind words Efflam. We are building a wooden cargo sailing ship in Costa Rica to prove the value of clean shipping. With net carbon neutrality building practices our first ship Ceiba is called on to serve markets that don’t have space in the dynamics of large-scale maritime shipping, people like small carbon-neutral producers, and eco-conscious consumers. Ceiba will be able to carry 250 tons of sustainability produced goods, emission free along the Pacific Americas. Visit our website at sailcargo.org or search us on YouTube to learn more! Thank you to the We Don't Have Time team for everything!

"remembering blue skies", oil painting. If we don't manage to block the deployment of SRM (solar radiation management via aerosol dispersal), each one of us will eventually be the elder struggling to remember and describe what blue skies looked like. The sulfuric acid dispersed via planes in the upper layers of the atmosphere would scatter about 20% of incoming light, a desperate top-down, undemocratic measure to serve the god of money. If we allow this last experiment to take place, we'll become the worst ancestors to have ever walked this earth. We must be ready to stop it at every step of the way, it will come up again under new names and with different logos, but the basic idea is simple : put an acid blanket over the atmosphere to allow for more oil pollution and profits.

"A ship from the past", Oil on Panel, 2064. Painted during the third oil crash of February 2064, this painting was meant to question the viewer's linear conception of progress and history. The replica of a 20th century Breton Sinagot is seen sailing past the rusted hull of a container ship. Painting Number #2 in the post-collapse series.

"Antibiotics for Singapore", 36x72" oil on canvas, 2018 I painted this 2 years ago, at the time I was worried that the CPC would have become "the pharmacy of the world" , leaving any resistance to annexation vulnerable to an embargo on vaccine, antibiotics, unless countries retain local pharmaceutical production and labs regardless of economics, as a matter of security. This scene takes places in 2073, so obviously... sailboats are delivering the much needed help to Singapore. The grim future came a lot sooner than I expected.

"How'd you like my tar sands and fracking dividends? XOM is feeling bullish!" Says the giant machine of destruction, shaking the strings and taunting the cold bodies of its shareholders. ... Exxon knew about climate change, studied it, could have been pioneers of the renewable transition. Instead they chose to go for a cover up: They lied to the public, to their shareholders about the dangers of fossil fuels for the planet, and stranded assets for the financial sector. The continued operation of ExxonMobil but especially the leases, rigs, tankers, are incompatible with my future, and even less so for the millions of kids who climate-marched in the streets. Until Exxon is stopped, it is in the business of producing floods fires and famine, an oilman of the apocalypse. Reduction in demand, global strikes, divestment hype train, ESG growth, we'll be relentless and not stop until Exxon is no longer a threat to the well being of humans and non human life.

The big polluters will not stop until the governments stop them but unfortunately governments are working for the lobbies rather than for the people and our environment.

Companies like this need to be held accountable for the lives they’ve destroyed previously and the irreparable destruction their actions will continue to cause.
•
179 w
They have knowingly caused more damage to the environment and biodiversity than any other company, yet no litigation follows to get the funds to help us in the battle against the worst effects of climate change. It needs a collective action by the people to bring them to heel. Send the other corporates a strong message and stop this wanton destruction all for money and greed.

ClimateChange is a slow-moving threat. And humans aren't responding to climate change despite the mounds of evidence that support the impact that we have on our environment. I had the opportunity to share the behavioral patterns of humans and why we are prone to taking little to no action to help eliminate global warming at Virginia Wesleyan University. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osROUfAeiJA&feature=emb_title

You're not alone in eco-anxiety. The natural world screams silently with you. Through you.
•
179 w
Absolutely - you are never alone in this. The worst day of my life was tormented by climate anxiety. I had volunteered to lecture a group of construction students in the morning following months of research based around the carbon footprint of the construction sector and all the intractable problems that this throws up due to our current infrastructure. That afternoon I had to deliver my Renewable Energy solution to an accelerator committee... Its an emotional rollercoaster but you've got to stay positive and active in this area.... To borrow a slogan - 'Together we are the solution'! Everyone of us has a solution that no-one has thought of... ideas and action can change the world. Use it to tackle climate change.

I want to put my money where my mouth is, but what if my mouth wants to scream "dismantle Total, Shell, Chevron, Texaco, BP !"? I want to invest in a class of financial products with a stated purpose of replacing and dismantling every component of the fossil fuel economy. I want to put my money to work.

The Nornickel hall of shame welcomes its newest addition in the form of an ongoing leak of approx 17,500 tonnes of diesel fuel, coloring the river red. Despite requests for maintenance from the Russian Government, Norilsk-Taimyr did not take the requested steps to avoid a failure of Tank 5. Here's a digital painting I made on the day of the spill:
