Everyone needs to be a climate activist. This crisis is really stealing people's furure
The science has clearly stated that if we want to mitigate climate change, then no new fossil fuel investment whose final decision was made before 31 Dec 2021 should proceed This is the case for both Tilenga, EACOP and King Fisher. Therefore would like to warn TOTALEnergies to stop this madness project

There is no way we would mitigate climate change if we will continue investing in fossil fuel, tree plantings won't help in mitigating climate change if we continue investing in fossil fuel. Beach clean up won't help in mitigating climate change if we keeps on investing in fossil fuel. The science is very clear on this, fossil fuel is the major causative of fossil fuel. Let us keep it in the ground

I agree. People need to be sensitized more to the effects of the continued use of fossil fuel.
Climate change is threatening both natural and human system. The science is very clear on this that the climate crisis that we are experiencing now is the result of investing on fossil fuel (According to International Energy Agency) To mitigate climate change the science wants us not to contimue with fossil fuel investment
•

Green energy is the way to go since its eco- friendly and sustainable unlike fossil fuels.
From the IPCC WGIII Report, one thing is very clear! To meet the goal set in Paris Agreement of 1.5 we need to keep fossil fuel in the ground

This report speaks volume, with finality and is also very cautionary stating clearly that if we dont act now, then we're doomed to dive into the impending climate disaster.
We Dont Have Time Africa chapter we had time to share insights on the extent of climate crisis in African perspective via Mlimani TELEVISION, we discussed the impacts of climate crisis and the responsibility of everyone in curbing this crisis We are unstopable, another world is possible Kindly listen us via the link https://youtu.be/ApQChL1sErk

The interview was great and you are meticulous given that you have an indepth knowledge of the extent of the climate crisis, possible solutions and the participation/contribution of different stakeholders such as the government towards combating the crisis in Tanzania. As a climate activist with a wide connection with the likes of Vanessa Nakate of Uganda,Domica Lasota of Poland,Greta Thunberg of Sweden among others, your insights were on point.
Climate Action is a race we must win

At this juncture it's either we win or win. It's deemed as a crisis of our making and it's only us who can address it at whatever cost but #wedonthavetime
Climate change is the global challenge of our time, we have to either adress it or leave it then the history will judge us

Let's do it!
Africa is real feeling the impacts of climate change. Imagine the continent with poor infrastructures, poor means of science and technology striving to run away from poverty Then climate change is exacerbating the existing challenges in Africa Climate change is bound to alter the achievement of Agenda 2030 (UN SDGs) Students spends most of their time searching for water instead of being in the class room, this is because of climate change The rivers that used to have flow of water throught the year are no longer there because of climate change! People can no longer practice irrigation farming as before, Imagine the life of these people, whose most of their livelihood activities are climate sensitive We need Urgent climate action to safeguard the life of people
Let us share ideas out here! What are you doing to adress climate crisis?? Leave a comment!
According to the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative (ND-GAIN) index ranks Tanzania as the 34th most vulnerable to climate change and 54th least ready to adapt to climate change, despite the fact that the country is among lowest emitters in the world Big emitters should clearly knows that, our country needs adaptation fund to adapt to this adverse impacts before we extinct and this should stay clear that it is not a favour as we are suffering the crisis we didn't create Picture by @Fredy

Very true @baraka lenga ... developed countries should fullfil their climate finance fund commitment ...#climateactionNow

Yeah so true developing countries are not fully responsible all these historical emissions were done by developed countries. The 100 billion dollar climate finance is yet awaited
We are unstopable, we are not going to drop down the mic of climate justice. I @Baraka (Tanzania representative of @Wdht and @Patrick (Africa representative of @Wdht, we had a very busy week of making sure the platform is well understood all over here. Sadly I can't understand but good job Patrick and Baraka!
Climate change is affecting human system, the local community in the global south is more, some are facing extinction of their resources. Let's join our hands to demand climate equality. Those who are most emmiting should pay for this mess to help the most vulnerable community
•

@peter we need to remind them that, they should know that is not a favour

The 100biliion adaptation pledge didn't get fulfilled at Cop26 and so that questions more of when and how the war will be won on climate change especially for developing countries which ofcoz contribute less.
Climate change is real and the impacts of climate change does not respect national borders, whether rich or poor countries we all face the impacts of climate change.. Thr unfortunate fact is that those countries whose contribution to climate change is almost negiligble are suffering most Let's call for those who are responsible ought to pay for this mess
Earlier today I and comrade Patrick (WDHT from Kenya) we had a beautiful time at TBC FM preaching about climate justice gospel. People are getting into it We don't have time, we need to act urgently against climate crisis

Great work mate!
I remember sometimes back when I was a little boy, we used to have plenty of food in our village. Our parents used to cultivate even twice per year. But now, everything turned into a threat because of climate change. There are no more enough rainfall. There are no more rivers for irigation. There are no more forest for supporting hydrological cycle. There are no more fertile soil. I call upon all men and women to stand for climate action...... It real demand action, urgently!!! Just imagine in next ten years how the situation will be If we cant Imagine, rethink and take apropriate action.... Then, we are open doors for our own extinction Just like #dinosaur the following is the human race extinction, Unless otherwise we take climate action seriously. LET'S TAKE URGENT ACTION, WE DON'T HAVE TIME
The ongoing project of EAST AFRICA CRUDE OIL PIPELINE will exacerbate climate crisis which will push millions of people along East Africa in danger. My apeal is that, Tanzania government and Uganda government should stop implementing this project if they real care about the future generation

The team of Green Queen - a Singapore based media company- have researched sustainable plastics for several years, arguing that the climate impacts of plastics and petrochemicals production are being neglected, as the debate so far has mainly focused on later stages of plastic life-cycles. This resulted in a research project in which they mapped and analysed the fossil lock-ins of plastics and petrochemicals. More recently, they investigated major plastics producers and the investments they are making which are likely to increase the production of fossil-based virgin plastics around the world. Thus, they discovered that the 12 largest petrochemical companies have cumulatively announced 88 new projects for production capacity increase and infrastructure expansion between 2012 and 2019, reaching levels that have not been seen before. These new and expanded facilities will operate for decades once they are opened, adding to the current greenhouse gas emissions of the chemical industry – which are already the third largest of all industries. Information about the industry and its growth being scarce, they spent the last year collecting data about recent projects from trade press as well as information released by the firms themselves, cross-referencing to identify unique projects. Two key trends emerged in their analysis: the move towards primarily using oil for plastics and chemicals rather than petrol, and the explosive growth in demand for US ethane, a byproduct from shale gas produced through fracking. The first trend is most manifest in China and the Asia-Pacific region, where industry experts estimate that 70-80% of new refining capacity in the next five years will be plastics focused. The large oil firms are therefore strategically partnering with chemicals and plastics producers in the region. The huge demand for plastics in the Chinese manufacturing industry has also spurred Western chemical firms to make record investments. The world’s largest chemicals company BASF, for example, is investing US$10 billion in a new site in China – the largest investment ever for the company. The second trend has mainly materialised along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico where ethane is produced. While ethane cannot be used as natural gas in most applications, it is an excellent feedstock for the production of common plastics – and is very cheap. As ethane production in the US has soared following the shale gas boom, so have the investments in ethane-based plastics production facilities as well as other chemicals produced from shale gas. Wow, these are actually very worrying trends, and it's hard to think that they will stop being trends any time soon considering the world's addiction to plastics.... Great job by the two Swedish researchers behind the research!
