Day One: It's our privilege to attend the Agribusiness Conference, Expo, and Training Workshop at International Conference Center Abuja, organized to improve the exportation potential of Nigerian farmers and agripreneurs through the provision of linkage opportunities with international markets and improved awareness of modern farming techniques
I would also want to place on record our immense appreciation to the organizers of the conference for giving us 70 slots for the training of our members at this conference. This is indeed a rare opportunity and a great privilege for us. We really appreciate the kind gesture.
I strongly believe that youth have the creativity, the potential, and the capacity to make change happen, for themselves, for their communities, and for the rest of the world. As a sequel to this, GECCI welcomes more collaborations on initiatives that are in line with our focus.
GECCI is making arrangements to train at least 20,000 farmers and young people from across the country on climate-smart agriculture, with a view to achieving the triple win of greater productivity, increased resilience, and lower emissions.
This will focus on how to improve crop yield and use water more efficiently for irrigation. It is envisaged that the initiative will have an influence on the lives of 20,000 farmers and will result in the creation of 10,000 jobs in order to reinforce meaningful engagement of young people on sustainable Agriculture and climate change resilience.
