Oli Frost is not only a songwriter and content creator who makes novelty songs, games, and films about the climate crisis. He is also joining Hollywood actor Peter Stormare, UN-endorsed endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh, and Thai-Swedish musician Sirintip, as We Don’t Have Time’s fourth ambassador. Here is his story.
The year was 2018. Amid warnings about record-breaking droughts, heat waves, and the plight of a rising wave of school-striking youth activists, the climate crisis was capturing the public eye in a way the world hadn’t been seen before. In the United Kingdom, Oli Frost, a multi-talented musician with a new take on activism, turned his attention to the issue.
“I was trying to figure out how to retool the methods I’d already been learning to get attention for the climate crisis,” said Oli. “Those included seemingly unrelated things like playing hip-hop songs on the recorder, which got me on Britain’s Got Talent, or selling my personal data on eBay, which made headlines.”
Oli Frost uses humor, music, and other unorthodox tactics to advocate for climate. “I was trying to figure out how to retool the methods I’d already been learning to get attention for the climate crisis.”
Oli quickly found there was a demand for his specific brand of climate advocacy. That didn’t stop him from changing his approach many times, however—over the years he has tried impersonating his local council to improve their recycling tips, creating popular posters for the global climate strike, producing music videos for the climate, and releasing an online game to annoy fossil fuel financers.

By varying his approach to climate advocacy over the years, he engaged his audience while combating boredom and climate anxiety. And now he’s a We Don’t Have Time ambassador.
“I think We Don’t Have Time is a really unusual idea, which I discovered early on. Back then, when I was starting this kind of work, one could feel like an outsider looking in. So to now be appointed an ambassador of any sort is nice!” said Oli.
“This year I'll be taking on more of the companies that continue to prop up the fossil fuel industry – work I look forward to sharing on We Don't Have Time.”
