The banks' loan portfolios spit out more carbon dioxide than the whole of Sweden

SEB is the Swedish bank that finances the largest climate emissions
100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide - that's how big the climate emissions can be linked to the loan portfolios of the big Swedish banks. Lending to oil and gas companies accounts for a large part of the emissions, shows a report from the Fair Finance Guide.

This is absurd, financial institutions must stop to finance oil and gas companies to aid in phasing out fossil fuels.

This was the major reason why I moved my loans and savings from one of those oil-thirsty big banks to a smaller bank.

It highlights the need for financial institutions to consider the climate impact of their investments and take steps to reduce their carbon footprint.

It's crucial that the financial industry recognizes its role in the fight against climate change and takes concrete steps to reduce its carbon emissions to help protect our planet.
