Growing our economy today and dealing with our mess later is way more expensive!

⚠ Leaders often think that resolving environmental issues is costly. But while growing economies today and cleaning up the mess later seems cheaper, shockingly, already a 0.5°C rise could cost $15-38.5 trillion! Learn more about the hidden costs of the 'grow now, clean up later' mentality:

The longer we take in cleaning our mess the more costly it will be for us to clean the mess later so it's better now.

We approach the whole costing exercise a bit differently and build detailed bottoms-up cost models of organizations and explicitly link GHG emissions to cost. With the inclusion of revenue, we can see on an individual product basis the full cost, profit and total embedded emissions. We can also use this model to forecast the costs of reducing emissions, but more importantly help to uncover cost savings that might offset the increase in costs of transitioning to a greener business model.

The mention of a 0.5°C rise potentially costing $15-38.5 trillion underscores the economic risks of neglecting climate responsibilities. This perspective encourages leaders to recognize the long-term financial implications of environmental degradation and advocates for a more sustainable and proactive approach to economic development that considers the true costs of delayed action. #ClimateAction #EconomicSustainability #HiddenCosts

We need a clean up as we grow mentality but not a grow then clean up mentality ... We need to deal with our messes as we grow

It's crucial to consider the broader consequences of a 'grow now, clean up later' approach.

This is a "doomed' mentality that does not solve the problem in hand.
