LIFE IN PLASTIC.
Since the beginning of plastic industries in the early 1950's the use of this material has exploded vastly with no doubt.Around 9.1 billion tonnes of plastic have been created by human since then and of the plastic waste produced between 1950 to 2015 only 9% was recycled,instead of being recycled plastic ends up in land fields,oceans,waterways and in our food most of the time. It is estimated that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean and that number is increasing by around 13million metric tons of plastic every year we risk having lots of plastics than fish in the ocean.
People worldwide use approximately 500-600billion single use plastic bags per year and about 150bags a year per person,this is pure defilement of our environment.
Such amounts of plastic waste have a devastating effect on marine life,human life,wildlife among many others. Plastic waste is estimated in destroying lives of almost 100,000marine life and 1 million seabirds a year.
Plastic waste can take decades to decompose but it more quickly breaks down into microplastics. These are most tiny forms of plastic less than 5mm in length. According to the U.S National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration these microplastics are now found in every part of the food chain from drinking water to salt.
Ending plastic waste is ambitious. That's why we create The Alliance to End Plastic Waste,Much effort has been made to both identify the scale of the threat of plastics to the health of humans, and ecosystems, along with solutions to tackle this crisis.
I therefore challenge @PlasticPollutes to write to this companies that are major causes of global plastic crisis example @thecocacolacompany and many others that we know,this crisis should end once and for all.
Key findings:
1.we are our own problem and thus we should rise to face this 'LIFE IN PLASTIC.
2.Plastic manufacturing farms should shut down or get safer ways out.
3.Pass policies that create systemic change ie face out single use of plastic.
4. Severe punishment accorded to companies that don't follow this policies meant to help.
By so doing the humans will have extra knowledge about the plastic pandemic, allow me call it that since it is a force fighting us from within.

The companies producing so much single-use plastic containers can make a huge difference by offering beverages through bulk dispensaries, people can make a huge difference by lobbying, for example, Pepsi, Nestle and beverage distribution companies to provide soft drinks and water through bulk containers requiring people to reuse their own containers. Coffee, peanut butter, grains, fruits, cereals, beans, flours, candies, detergents, etc. are offered through bulk dispensaries - why not beverages?

Did some home experiment sometime back and recorded plastic as my compounds main polluter,might seem a matter to outdo but it's a matter if not dealt with might lead to 'plastic pandemic ' as @reaganoumaochango calls it 😄

The phrase, "we risk having more plastic than fish in the ocean." Is enough to just tell all of us that indeed this is not a matter to be set aside,but be outlighted so that the 30% coverage of plastic waste be done with entirely. Good work kid,,watching 😊

Plastic is a material that we should be avoiding at all costs. Firstly its production and stages has lots of effects to the environment ie the gas being emitted. It's ironic that every process about plastic making is dangerous and the item itself is dangerous too. That's my student @reagansongbird good work.

Am yet to understand why a big firm like @thecocacolacompany would fail to reach at least 50%of recycling of the plastic waste.,,,for instance in my country Somalia we are vulnerable to more plastic waste since efforts to recycle are killed. Marine life indeed faces a huge risk,am a captain and at times we meet Sea animals dead as a result of plastic choke or poisoning. Kudos for this initiative/brain. @wedonthavetime @plasticpollutes.
