African leaders cautioned against fossil fuels at AU summit


The AU summit was held in Ethiopia on 18th - 19th Feb, 2023.
As the African Union Summit got underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, last weekend, energy transition was expected to top the agenda, even civil society groups cautioned leaders against fossil-fuel expansion projects on the continent.

                  It's an optimum time for the African heads to reason out on the possible ways they can drive the continent out of the dependency of fossil fuels as the continent is able to transition to renewable energy with relative ease

                      The effects of climate change are terrible in their cruelty in the Horn of Africa with a many years drought destroying millions of people’s livelihood. How come that Africa is still using fossil energy when solar energy and geothermal energy are in abundance
