Sweco is a global consulting company with over 17 000 employees. This is the way they have chosen to create awareness about the climate in their cafés and canteens in Sweden. It is a very good way to educate employees about climate impact from different kinds of food. Way to go Sweco!

THANK YOU all for the positive feedback! Of course, the food in our canteens and cafés in Sweden is not our primary carbon footprint or our main work to reach our climate target (our climate neutrality target is approved by Science Based Targets, being in line with the Carbon Law and the Paris Agreement's 1.5 degree target). But in our effort to both make the climate work visible and tangible for colleagues & visitors (and you!), and to show that we care even about issues that are clearly "not our business" (such as what people have for lunch), we hope to create awareness and "Yes We Can"-spirit. Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, with most people working from home, we notice how this has created a buzz, and how the climate impact from food has decreased. Also, even for me as CSO, I got a better understanding on what is the most climate friendly solution - and the external operator of our canteen is bringing this to other customers they have (Sweco is first). I know I was born at 326ppm CO2 & I’m sure we could have our food brands display carbon footprint on pricing and packaging. The rate of refresh of office screens is too huge, but we have places to show climate actions on office systems too, despite mostly working remotely since the pandemic began.
