I was not referring to UK Government efforts, which are very inconsistent and prone to greenwash, but to scientific and engineering innovation by UK companies, which is particularly visible in the Crowdfunding sector, where young companies are increasingly seeking - and attracting - early stage finance. Examples of new, innovative technologies include tidal-stream turbines; combined floating wind- and wave-energy platforms; non-battery energy storage (gravitational, cryogenic, and high-density pumped fluids); Li extraction from geothermal fluids; domestic heat-storage units; H2O electrolysers; H2-powered airliners and cars; passenger airships; chemical storage of green H2; e-fuels from plastic waste; green building materials; maglev freight- delivery pipelines; agricultural robots; electrical weeding; and recycling of agricultural wastes, to name but a few.
