Meta shadow ban climate science and politics

Meta and their newly launched competitor to Twitter/X, Threads, are labeling climate science as politics, which by default will lead to its shadow banning. This development is more than worrisome. The essence of a global platform, in my view, should allow for meaningful discussions on both politics and science, rather than confining conversations to superficial topics. It underscores a significant argument in favor of X as a platform that remains open, in contrast to Meta and others. Meta, please improve! First, climate change is not equivalent to politics. Second, why do you consider political discussions to be negative? Should we only share cat videos, watch advertisements, and continue to consume? @johnte_ndeto It is. In so many ways. facebook shut down all wedonthavetime.org ads the day after we launched our own social media platform in 2018.

This could hinder important conversations and actions needed to address climate change effectively.

I agree, this is unacceptable. Climate science and politics should be given more airtime by meta considering this affects our daily basis livelihood.
