The Bordeaux-Lyon train line will be reopened in 2024

The Railcoop cooperative announced the opening of the Bordeaux-Lyon train line for the summer of 2024. This project intends to resurrect a line closed by the state in 2014... for lack of profit.
Initially scheduled for June and then December 2022, the launch had been postponed due to a lack of funds, and Railcoop is still raising money to be able to buy a train. Let's hope this time, it will be the right one!
In 2021, Railcoop had already deployed its first freight link, providing regular transport of wood between Aveyron and Haute-Garonne. Now it is time for passengers!

Great to see these tracks being used again for passengers! It's a pity when people choose to take domestic flights because of lack of options

Am sure this time round it will work. 10 years of inactivity means they have revised their operations for better.

@walter_lungayi it won't! The rails already exist (they stopped being used in 2014 when the French government decided that it wasn't worth it), and this new line might help people take the train instead of the plane (there is no direct line between Lyon and Bordeaux and people need to go up North to Paris, to go South again)
