Biden admin issues eco regulations

As part of the administration's efforts to combat "climate-damaging" hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a rule to accelerate an economy-wide transition to more advanced refrigeration and cooling technologies that don't use HFCs, and proposed a second rule to manage HFCs in existing products. HFCs are chemicals common in household appliances, but environmentalists say they contribute to global warming. "Today’s actions embody President Biden’s leadership on the climate crisis by tackling these planet warming chemicals while investing in American technology and innovation," EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a statement after unveiling the regulations late last week. "This final rule supports our transition away from HFCs and positions our nation to be competitive on the global stage, while the proposed emissions reduction and reclamation program will help ensure we achieve our national HFC phasedown," he continued. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-admin-issues-eco-regulations-impacting-air-conditioners-refrigerators?intcmp=tw_fnc

It's great to see the Biden administration taking strong measures to combat the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are known contributors to global warming. The Environmental Protection Agency's recent actions, finalizing a rule to promote advanced refrigeration and cooling technologies without HFCs and proposing a program to manage HFCs in existing products, reflect a commitment to addressing the climate crisis. These regulations not only support environmental goals but also promote American technology and innovation. It's encouraging to witness a proactive approach to reducing our carbon footprint and positioning the nation competitively on the global stage. Such efforts are pivotal in achieving a sustainable future and combating climate change effectively. 🌍🌿❄️ #ClimateAction #EcoRegulations #BidenAdministration

@rukia_ahmed_abdi Thank you for reiterating this. The African continent needs such resolve to make great strides in the journey towards net zero. The EPA has done an impressive job to ensure that HFCs are procedurally and completely phased out in years to come.

They need to be phased out due to their high global warming potential.
