Nations convene in Kenya to hammer out treaty on plastic pollution

International delegates have convened in Kenya in the hopes of making further progress towards a landmark treaty to fight global plastic pollution. Addressing the first day of the talks in the capital, Nairobi, on Monday, Kenyan President William Ruto said that time is running out to reach a deal before the end of 2023, a deadline set in March of last year. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/13/nations-convene-in-kenya-to-hammer-out-treaty-on-plastic-pollution

Plastic waste management is one of the main problems we have in Kenya, thus coming together to find its solution will be great.

This problem requires a global effort and collaboration to find effective solutions. A landmark treaty would be a significant step towards reducing plastic waste and its harmful impact on the environment. It is essential for countries to commit to implementing strategies that promote sustainable practices and reduce plastic consumption.

The convening of nations in Kenya to negotiate a treaty on plastic pollution is a significant and commendable step towards addressing the global plastic crisis. Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues, causing harm to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. By coming together and working towards a treaty, countries are demonstrating their recognition of the urgency and seriousness of this problem. This gathering presents an opportunity to discuss and agree upon collective measures, such as reducing single-use plastics, promoting recycling, and implementing stricter regulations. It is an encouraging development that signals a collective commitment to combatting plastic pollution and protecting our planet for future generations.

Plastics harm the environment, kills ocean life and wildlife too, the solution should be a total ban on plastics

@johnte_ndeto recycling might be a solution now before we completely do away with them by looking for environmental friendly options.
